Hi Guys,

I have said before that I visit the forum every single day. As far as getting back involved, I am not ruling anything out. It would take someone with outside cash to get the ball rolling.

I am watching things change dramatically in the paintball industry. Seems everyone is on the ropes and looking for new ideas. I am very interested in seeing how the 50 cal idea goes over.

With everyone turning out mil sim markers it seems tournament is on the way out. I find that particularly interesting. Info that drifts my way is saying that all the major manufacturers are millions in debt and looking for ways out. If a bunch of companies drop out, it could get really interesting but for now I am sitting, waiting and watching.

Well yes that would be amazing, and probably one of the best things to re-happen to paintball, BUT I doubt he will.

I will be the first in the queue for a gun though! :p

Doh! tourney on the way out? that would kill the paintball industry all together... right?
Ahahahahaahahahaha! Are you serious?

Wait.... you are serious! :)

Recreational paintball has thousands of players participating every weekend. Tournament maybe a couple of hundred players at best.

Bob Long (mtac based on a marq),Kee(tm7 and tm15 based on a mini) and Macdev have already done milsim/woodsball markers so it stands to reason planet and dye may do so aswell.

why do they need to make milsim markers?

a marker is a marker however it looks. it will do the same job. as long as it works well, and is reliable the looks should come 2nd.

with the VCR act in place milsim is currently in a tricky place in this country.

Some people like the whole military simulation aspect of that format, hence the 'milsim'. It's dress up in a game.
Some people still prefer taking tourny style markers into the woods, weight and speed are still important factors wherever you play, it's just that some people prefer military markers - hence the big demand for them.

And I have to admit, when I first started looking at getting into paintball, I was leaning towards the milsim area. To me that's what paintball was, until I looked a little deeper and found POWER RANGERS! *homygosh*

Not to mention that some companies make their soft goods in camo. Dye have done the whole shabang, except the marker.

So hes only coming back if he gets outside investment.
At a time when most of the industry is losing money.

I can see the queues forming outside his door now.

Its nice to dream but is there even room in the market for a gun with the quality of the mag?

What with most of the current markers being shat out in china, hyped to the max and they still cant turn a profit.
