Press Release: CK2, Cereal Killerz sequel available at World Cup
Cardiff by the Sea, CA – Tuesday, August 18, 2009: Monkey with a Gun prepares to release their newest paintball production on DVD at World Cup. CK2 is the second installment to the best selling paintball DVD Cereal Killerz. This film will again tell a unique and compelling story of ten world-class players. CK2 is directed by Patrick Spohrer, known for his innovative and polished film-making style and famous in the paintball community for directing PUSH, Sunday Drivers, Cereal Killerz and Heroes for a Day-the XSV Story.
“We won’t have any repeat players from the first Cereal Killerz; we have chosen to feature a whole new line-up. Once again we’ve selected players who have a history in the sport, players that train with religious–like intensity, and players who inspire,” says Bonnie DeMenge, Director of Marketing for Monkey with a Gun. The following players are featured in CK2: Ryan Greenspan and Angel Fragoza of Team Dynasty, Thomas “Troll” Taylor from XSV, Tyler Humphrey, Lucian Blackburn, and Justin “Duder” Summers of Trauma, Brian “LB” Fow and Travis Lemanski from Infamous, Brandon Mayo from Avalanche, and Konstantin Fedorov from the All Americans.
This film is unique to the sport. There are shots you never would expect to see in a paintball film. Some extraordinary shots were filmed with a special high-speed film camera. “This camera was actually used to film test launches of missiles. It shoots up to 500 frames per second. I was able to get my hands on one from a company out of Canada selling them when the military switched all their cameras over to digital. The camera slows everything down so much that the viewer can actually see the paintballs breaking, the players dodging balls by a millisecond. It’s just really cool,” Spohrer explains.
Leading companies within the paintball community have lent their support to the production of CK2. “By sponsoring the film, they have made it possible to expand the range and depth of film technology. Like the history making Cereal Killerz, CK2 once again raises the bar of paintball film making,” says DeMenge. “We are very grateful for the generous support of Draxxus, Badlands Inc., Planet Eclipse, JT USA, Empire and Smart Parts.”
