A1's are good guns but for some one that is new not that easy to use and maintain, a good gun for someone getting into sup air is an eteck or considering you have a decent budget a ego 07/08 these guns are simple and require little maintaining , have you got a hopper? air tank? you need a decent hopper and tank then get a marker.

Good choice on the mask, and you have a decent budget for the rest of the gear.

The air tank and loader are your priorities here. You should be looking at a decent fibrewrap bottle, since if you get a cheaper steel or aluminium bottle you'll soon wanting to be upgrading at a large expense. Avoid the upgrade and head straight for the winners.
;)
That'll probably set you back around £150

A decent loader you can get for around £50. A second hand Reloader B, Halo or Vlocity will do good. I'd personally head for the Reloader, since it's a winner when it comes to battery life, and it's reliable as hell.

That means you have around 150 for a marker. For that money you could just about stretch to a new SLG09 (Non UL version), a second hand SLG UL, a second hand ego5 or etek. Possibly push for a second hand Mini. They're all decent markers for the money.
:p

After that you'll want to start saving for your own pod pack and pods, arm and knee pads and then playing gear. But don't forget to save money for playing! No amount of expensive gear can make you better than pure practice.

Nice choice on a mask.

Wouldn't recommend getting an Angel if your new, maybe later on.

Get yourself a Nice Tank + Loader, i'd say a DXS 45/4500 or a DXS 68/4500, you can get both from www.lipspaintball.com - thats £150. 190 remaining.

Loader wise, get yourself a nice 2nd hand loader. Pinokio or Rotor, thats £80-90. £100 Remaining

Then go to www.gunsmoke-paintball.co.uk, ring them up, and get a ProMaster with the free ASA, BE FAST, they're going very quick, then get a Trinity Clamping feedneck from LiPS, in the "Ion" Thread, and stick that on. You have an AWESOME setup!!

Also, get your board 'flashed at LiPS :)

A1's are good guns but for some one that is new not that easy to use and maintain,
What utter twaddle! What could be easier than putting a couple of drops of oil in the ASA every 5 cases of paint? As for hard to use, do you think that a full OLED display is hard to understand? Problems come from people who fiddle and change settings when they don't know what they are playing with!

They need no more complicated maintenance than an Etek, and are probably a lot easier to set-up, once there its just a case of wiping it down and putting it back in your bag at the end of the day! But then its my guess that you, or any of the other posters who advise against, have never actually owned an Angel and just subscribe to the hearsay!

OLLY.B - I would recommend you give Chris or Jon a call at LiPS on 01707 325007 and discuss your budget and what you require, don't be mislead by ill-informed opinion. As for an air system, definitely buy new, you can't afford to take any chances with high pressure air - go for a 1.1 litre fibre wrapped system if you can, or you'll only want to upgrade to one soon after anyway!

Seconded!!, wipe down and oil, all there is to do on a A1, all this nonsense that there hard to maintain and look after mainly comes from people who have never owned one or even shot one
