Mask and goggles question

Hi all, first post!

I have been reading threads/posts on here about headgear as I am in the market to purchase.

I have decided upon Dye I3 Pro's for ~£60.

http://www.store.justpaintball.co.uk/dye-i3-pro-4.html?___store=default

High Def Lens: The Pro i3 comes equipped with Dye's enhanced High Definition Lens, providing optimal lens clarity in any weather situation. The high contrast tint greatly increases your visual perception and helps with distinguishing various colors on the field.
However I have a couple of questions:

-In the picture the lens is slightly coloured, I will be playing exclusively woodland games and sometimes these will be in the winter months. Will this coloured lens be fine? Help me? Or hinder me? Any suggestions of better lens or even goggles for the woodland games?

-I would like a cape for my head. I can think of no better way to describe this, but some kind of balaclava to offer some protection to the areas the mask will not cover. Can anyone link me to one of these please!?

The standard advice for anybody in the market for a mask is to get to a shop and try some on. If you can't get to a shop, get to your local site (if alot of own gunners use your local site) and ask to try some there. Don;t worry, we're a friendly bunch.
:p
Dye I3's are a bit outdated. They're good masks, and lot of people swear by them, but outdated none-the-less. You can get alot of masks for 60 quid - Proflex, the new Protos, Grillz, the older E-Vents

Point being, try these on and find which you like best. For 60 quid you want to make sure you got the most comfortable mask for you. It's entirely up to you though, we can't tell you what you want.

A for the lens, the Dye range come standard with a HD lens. The tinting actually helps with definition, meaning it'll be easier to see than if you were using a dark tinted lens. And if you don't like it, you can always change to a clear lens. (Around 16 quid). It shouldn;t hinder you in the woods. It's not unheard of for players to switch to an amber lens when they go to woodland.

The 'capes' are called sandanas. Go playing gear -> Headwear and you'll have lots of choice

Do not buy i3 pros for £60, look on here and you could get some half that price, or if you want to spend that much go for i4s or the new axis. :)
As for a head cape, I think I might start calling them that :D, search sandana on google

I3's are pretty nice, make sure you get soft ears because they are very comfy. I have i4's but they leave a lot of my forehead exposed so usually need a hat of some kind underneath. But i3 / i4 = comfort.

for protection of your head use a beanie or think headband / sandana as its mainly your forehead just above the goggles that will get hit, if your mask doesnt.

I guess that is the disadvantage of using the search feature to find threads with similar questions to you - they're not always up-to-date!

This opens a whole new can of worms up then, but thank you to everyone for helping answer my questions, in a VERY quick time.

Also, LOL, head capes, I will defiantly roll with that as creator :D

If any1 knows of a mask which they find great for woodland games that kind of help would still be appreciated, thanks!

The new Proto axis pro is very similar to the dye I3, and it can come in camo. Quick change lense, wide range of lenses available should you ever want something bling, you can also get a goggle fan for when it's humid (You'll fog up in the woods eventually, I have no doubt).

It's also the same price as the I3's

I've heard nothing but good things about this mask. Mike from Techpb uses these during his woodball matches.

Hell, I've even got my eyes on one of these

The HD lens that comes standard with the Pro's are single pane with a thermal coat. Despite this, they do fog up. Change them for a proper double pane thermal lense but replacing the them is a biatch in the i3's.

Also the the light tint will work well in the woods, the darker smoke and mirrored lenses can cause you problems on overcast or rainy days.

So ultimately I am looking for a proper double pane thermal lens, which is colour tinted or at least not dark/smoked.

Also I would like a peak to stop the sun coming through unless the coloured/normal lenses will stop this effectively enough?

I'd like some funky design/colour or camo.

Those three are kinda cool, but just not sure about the lenses...
