i was told i couldnt do hnd on part time. or is that not what you meant
think it depends on where you go some colleges wont see it as viable with low numbers of students doing it but this is a bit offtopic, you will still be a member of the students union and as such have access to the same as full time uni students

Well i think the main problem with uni paintball is the fact that every year you will lose players. Unless new players are brought into the sport rapidly (and many will probably be intimidated by the large amount of money needed to get equipment, as well as tourny's) you will be left with a shortfall of players, unless the team is lucky enough to have people coming in who have played before. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it is very hard to actually get a team together from scratch. Saying that though it does mean that most uni teams would be on a similar footing if another league came around.

True enough, though a new uni team may have trouble trying to convince the student uni to fund them. Some uni's have a thing about gun like objects, even if they are just paintball markers.

Ah the whole cost argument against university paintball is a bit loaded to be honest. All you have to do is stop going to awful cheesy clubs and you will find yourself with and extra 30-40 quid each week. At Uwe we train with reballs every weekend, 4 quid for 4 hours and play once or two times a month with live paint. The most popular Society at my university is snow sports, what could be more expencive than snow boarding/skiing with the constant holidays gear to buy and insane travelling costs.

There seems to be quite alot of univeristy teams about perhaps we should get a thread up and see how many we have, and more importantly how many would be willing to compete possibly train or just muck about and play some games. Any way im sure me and the rest of the guys at the Uwe paintball society will be game for anything Inter university related.

I agree with Idioteque. To start this sort of thing off we need to establish which universities are game and what they are willing/able to do. I've currently just finished my A-levels and am taking a gap year and during that year im trying to get Brighton to set up a paintball team and establish some tournaments
