Mind you Jimmy I did see that, Div 3 & 4 (which I am puttimg my Tigers2 Team In) is going to be played wednesday - Sunday, which is when The Masters (hopefully) will be, and didn't you and wayne have to rush back to play one of our games as you were playing for L.A. Swat??
Yes, but our matches were not at the same time just close together. I think Benny missed one of our matches. If I remember correctly it was because he had to fill in as a last minute roster addition because one of his guys got in some legal issues. At this point I'm still hoping PSP will add Masters to the event!!!!!

LASWAT Schedule 1st game Wed. is wrong though, Both were afternoon games.

Twizz, I'm not so sure I'd like people taking the pi$s out of me really ..... I'd like them to remember the gorgeous killing machine I once was :)
And take it from someone who went there and did that. It's down right embarrassing. Rob Staudinger told me I looked European circa early 90's and LB told me I needed to "fix how I was wearing my gear and stuff" so that at least I looked like I could play while I was off the field.

I do still have the advantage of being gorgeous, though. So that helps. I guess.

It was terrible Pete. Terrible I tell you. My son actually cried after watching me play. LITERALLY!!

He told me, with tears streaming down his young face, "Daddy you lied! You lied! You told me you were good and you suck!" I swear on my life that's what he said.

Thank God Bob Long had pity on an old soul and told my son just how good I once was. OK. OK. He lied and told my son that I used to be good and I paid him $20 when my boy wasn't looking. But it was still a good thing of him to do and I am forever grateful. He's a good man........ for a price, anyway.

And it probably didn't help that 2 girls and Rodney Squires were ranked ahead of me in the PGI top 200 thing and my son saw that, too.

Oh hell, I give. I guess I was the only one who thought I was good. And Bobby did. Right Bob? Bob? Bobby. Bobby??? Hey! Give my money back. BOBBBYYY.......

Lane, mate, ya see now that's where you went wrong, you shattered the illusion bubble........ And you did this by playing again!

I am seemingly more protective of my playing reputation; at the moment, most people think I'm an ex pro who won a few things and wrote for PGi (I'm trying to be modest here but it's killing me dude) .... if I went out onto the field of play, my rep would last about as long as it takes Ledz to demolish a king sized pizza...roughly 3.5 seconds.

I quite like the idea of people saying or thinking, 'oh, there's that Robbo guy, he was voted world's best player back in the day' (ok, ok, ok, my strained humility only lasted for so long) - If I played and those same people saw me, any idea of me living up to that world's best player malarkey would disappear in a frikkin heartbeat.

....but for the purposes of clarity and the truth, I will tell everybody, Lane was one of the world's best, I was lucky enough to play alongside him on the All Americans for a time and he's been a good friend ever since...he's a stand up guy!!!!!
I'd play again if there were no spectators and fone/cameras would have to be banned :)

OMG! U two are breaking my heart! Quit whining about what people will think! Just play the game we love!!!!:D

Lane,
Sorry man, but the "ruining my rep" excuse doesn't work. Try, "I'm working that event, I don't have time". :p If you do have time........ I'm sure you could pull a few guys together and have some fun with it or jump in with us! By all means don't make your son cry again!!!

Robbo,
Come on......
I'd play again if there were no spectators and fone/cameras would have to be banned
not a good excuse. On the other hand, I know people with back problems......... so that's an acceptable reason. If you get some good medication and wanna play, then let me or Twizz know!

Hmmmm.... I just had my morphine stopped so I ain't got any chance of playing till I get back on that; now that's not an excuse of any kind, that's just how it's gonna be.

Bad back. Bad knee. Bad ankle. Two bad shoulders. And I am scared to death of those machine guns you guys play with today.

My nature tells me to take off and run wide open. That's how I learned to play. My body tells my nature to go to hell and doesn't do it's part in the task.

I'm not smart enough to play any other way.

You take a mindset that tells you to go, a body that stops going whenever it decides to, and inability to adjust to another style of play, and guns shooting by themselves .... it's a disaster.

Add to the fact that the refs blames me for their work load, the heat, and every time somebody gives them a hard time. They are itching to see me get punished. They don't call me out on rubs and spray. They tell me I'm clean no matter what and just let me take the abuse.

Actually, I had a blast 2 years ago. It was a lot of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would really like to do it again on a vintage late 90's field with mechanical guns. I think that would be a blast.

I do have a lot on my plate at the events. It's hard to justify playing when all my employees are busting their ass. And, in all seriousness, what I put my body through for the first 35 years makes it very hard to have fun playing the way I know how to play now.
