In short which would be the best way to remove the little blighter:

Cut away the manifold and unscrew with pliers or

cut a flat head groove into screw and unscrew it.

#2
Any recommendations on how to remove swarf from those hard to reach areas of a paintball gun?

Flat head groove or use a punch.

Is it just the screw head that is stripped?

If so, you may be able to use a Torx driver in place of the Allen key to loosen the screw and remove it. Or, if you can hold it steady, in a padded vice or similar, use a centre punch, carefully punching a dot to one side of the Allen key socket and then tapping the punch at an angle loosen the screw.

If you can cut a flat in the head then this might help, but if it is tight/Loctite'd then an impact driver may be needed to shift the screw (again with the body clamped in a padded vice or similar).

I have also used extractors designed for stripped Phillips/Posidrive screw heads with some success, though this is usually only effective on the deeper socket head type Allen screws.

A drop or two of penetrating oil may help, or some gentle heat it it is Loctite'd.

As for cleaning out swarf, compressed air, cleaning solvent and finally some marker oil and another blow through should do it.

Hope that helps, its been a while since I have been inside a Shocker.

I've had success both ways removing a screw, personally though I'd go for the centre punch method as there is very little material on a manifold screw so if unsuccessful you still have enough left to work with to grab a saw and groove it, and if still unlucky you can get rid of the manifold and grab some pliers.

As for removing swarf, depending where it is depends how you do it. Cotton buds, drumstick/wooden spoon with a cloth, hot water, air.
