I guess i wouldn't call myself a newbie but here we go: i've had my proto slg for about a year and a half and i'm finally getting around to upgrading it. I already got myself a barrel, and im thinking about getting a dye rotor but i don't know if i really need it since i only play recball. Should i get the dye rotor or not? If I shouldn't then what hopper would be best for me?

If you have the money i would get a dye rotor very good, easy to use, easy to take apart, light, battery effeciant , very customizable with the new colour kits that lips and other shops have, great speedfeeds from dye and of course the famous virtue crown can be added to the rotor. If you get a rotor of the forums make sure its a gen 2 just for the fact that the gen 1's had some small problem. Check out dyes youtube channel and watch the durability video billy wing did, and watch the dye rotor with a 7 year-old.

I've been doing that for about 2 weeks now and ive swen both of those videos and thanks for the help. I do have the money for it but i don't know if i should spend the money on it if i could get a halo which is only about $95 since i really won't be needing to shoot the 40 BPS the dye rotor has to offer

Its a cool loader yeh but I reckon it'd be a bit of a daft buy for recball. You can get a Halo/Reloader B for about £30 on here, similar if not cheaper prices on US sites that will do a great job for much lesser the price. Paintball gets more expensive with unneccessary buys

it might seem a bit out of place in rec-ball(its not though) but think about it, what if you decide to get into tourney play?you will love to have a hopper that feeds a consistant 10 balls(instead of ones that well...don't..:p)

But, its your choice!

For recball? Empire Reloader B. Easy.

Great battery life, you can leave it on all day if you wanted. Good choice of speed feeds, plenty of spares flying about, good customisability, good consistancy of feed and a good speed to boot.

Not to mention it'll be cheap to buy it second hand.

The only real bad point is that it's a bit of a bugger to take apart and put together again, but not so much it'll cause any massive hassle.

I love mine, I've shot about 6000 through it and haven't had to change the batteries yet.

Also adding to that you can get the Dye Rotor H/C Kit. Like you said you seen the durability video and yes it is expensive like most items in paintball but at the end of the day it's up to you.

Rotor

I bought the Rotor and absolutly love it. I have just changed my first set of batteries in it and i have had it for 2 months lol! honestly the extra cash you spend on it is well worth it. You buy less batteries and no fiddling around with screws and everything....Rotor is CLASS!!!
Cheers

good on yea chap really nice bit of kit

Just don't get a dye speed feed. I've been shot 2 x in mine and it's broke both times. Also it sags after about a month. Dye will replace them for free tho if they do break.

Then next one i'm getting is the virtue crown
