Goin with family and friends. Got roped in to goin. Most of them never play paintball.

Last time I went DF was 8 years ago I think!! or maybe more! anyways Iam not goin to use my own gun as they still run on Co2, I think!

Can I still use my own Hopper Dye Rotor? Will it fit? and my own barrel. Think I still got barrel somewhere for the inferno. Or they wont allow it?

1 Iam goin to is in Guildford.

Why does this thread seem to have a general downer on playing a game of leisure paintball with family & friends?

Delta Force caters for punter paintball, so either call and ask about using your own gear, or bring it on the day and ask.

If you want to use your own marker (or change to your own barrel) then bring a hand held chrono with you. If a punter site does not normally cater for own gunners then their chrono may not be there on the day - or the marshalls may be too lazy to get it from the van or shed to test you and just say no as they can't or won't chrono you.

Using your own hopper will probably fit as feednecks tend to be the same, but sometimes a slight difference may mean it does not fit or is loose. Bring a little tape to secure it if required.

Though do you realy need your own hopper if playing with site markers to give you an electrical advantage over punters with gravity hoppers?

If they only have co2 but let you use your own air then you will need to bring your bottle or a few bottles pre fillled. Then you will have to economise your shots to keep your air, and to facilitate the different paint prices for punter play. Go for your normal plays paint cost and ration yourself to the same value but lower quantity of paint.

Regarding headshots - that is a standard punter rule for a few reasons, such as some punters hide and blind fire. Marshalls encourage them to hide behind a bunker with only barrel and mask exposed. Plus punters don't all get knocked out in the first seconds with face shots.
Some sites totally discourage head shots, others encourage using the rule to allow hits to be taken to the mask.

Whatever you do regarding gear bring the right attittude to the game to ensure the others enjoy themselves and you may be able to recruit additional players to non-punter paintball.

head shots

I co own NPG sheffield and we count head shots because if a player gets shot in the lense he cannot clean his gogs on field properly so his vision is impaired and accidents can happen,Saying that in the safety talk i ask players to refrain from aiming at the head. Nuff said.

I played at a Delta Force site in Reading a few months back after being asked to organise a team day at work.

Was not able to use my marker as it runs on air but a couple of guys could run their own markers as they run on Co2.

I was totally blown away by the quality of the game fields, properly built villages, bridges, forts and even a two story castle.

Well run day with decent food, teas, coffees, chocolate bars and snacks available.

Paint prices where they should be for a rental site and some half decent packages for those with the foresite to use them.

Laters :)

I work (not guildford mind, but all DF are basically the same) there so hopefully i can help you. first of all we do still run on co2. you can use your own barrel but if your gun goes down for instance we just swap a good gun with bad so your not waiting so your barrel could end up going walkies...eeek. and you can use your rotor but im not sure how big the rotor's feedneck is, but if i remember when i was prating about, a halo feedneck fit on the gun almost perfectly.

Deltaforce = head shots do not count :(
SLIGHTLY off subject, BUT ill respond anyway: a lot of recball sites dont allow head shot for a simple reason:

to prevent mugging. Head shots may hurt, but (yes. his IS Gurkha) thoughtfully, Delta Force use JT Elite Full Headshields as standard, thus removing any possible Pain Factor. At NPF, we use Scott Goggs, but provide a padded hood (snood) giving a similar effect... anyway, most recball sites encourage new players to keep their 'heads up' so they can see whats comming and are not getting shot out at point blank by a mugger, yes it still happens, but not as much as it would if hadshots DO count.

(I know when Lump played a customer day he hated this! :p)

However, Im sure if you have a private game at any venue, most rules will be flexed to suit your needs. I had a crazy group once that wanted 'ONLY chest shots count'. i let them do it, and marshaled accordingly!
