Frame refuses to give me my damn reg!

Right, this is really hacking me off, so give me a hand here please people.

Got a nice shiny new CP reg, and for a play, screwed it into my Ion frame. Now it won't budge. It doesn't seem to be threaded. A friend and I tried a rubber glove, a vice and boiling water, which did FA apart from leave some scratches on the reg.

I don't give a damn about the frame, I have an aftermarket spare, and the damn thing is saturated with glue from where a previous owner apparently tried to glue the grips to it. So if I have to I will hack the damn thing apart for my reg, but I lack the tools and the understanding.

Are there any suggestions as to how to get my precious reg back? :)

Is the reg screwed all the way in? You could try some WD40. What method did you use with the hot water? Did you soak just the frame part?

Got a small strap wrench? They're the first thing i'd turn to.
Not so far as I know, will ask a parent later.

It's about as in as it can go, won't turn either way. Poured the contents of a kettle over the frame and some of the reg aswell.

Ahh, you want to heat up the external part (the frame) without heating the reg. You want the frame to expand, so that you have more room to unscrew the reg.
Right, so it would make more sense to fill a basin with hot water and dunk just the frame?

yeah but take the noid and electronics out of the frame :p the best bet is a strap wrench or an oil filter remover but try and protect the reg

try tightening it a tiny bit more then loosen it off

Two layers of a tea towel, a rubber strap or a leather belt wrapped around your CP reg AND a mole grips wrench.

Job's done.

Good luck.
