unfortunately that is incorrect. The velcro is not the only modification done since the release of the rotor. One VERY important modification is a new anti jam system which has just recently been put into the new rotors.
Basically before it was a hit or miss. Either you got a rotor which worked flawlessly and you were able to make sweet love to it, or it was such a pain in the ass that you switched to a prophecy. Some people had to turn the rotor upside down and shake it to unjam it but now it is fixed with the new anti jam "arm". Hope this answers your question. I just purcahsed a rotor and not sure if it has the new system or not :[
