SLG stops firing

I used my Proto SLG 08 on a recent walkon and it worked pretty much all day until the last couple of games.

In the last games it would blink green and I would not be able to fire even with eyes off, a brief press of the bleed button, cleaning the barrel and changing the battery.

I had it re-lubed and it seemed to work again for a quick test on the firing range.

I have just bought and fitted new laser eyes and a featherlite switch. I shot about half a hopper today and it happened again. After removing the air tank and checking everything it worked again.

Anyone have any experience of this or know what it could be?

Thanks.

mine does that aswell and i've heard of it a few times.
from what i can tell the bolt isn't moving fully back so wont fire, a quick fix is to press the pleed button for a cuple of seconds to move the bolt back. i find best thing to do is put fresh lube on or if thats still not working put more on. what i do now is put on the lube just before my first game which wiorks well, if i play the full day it ussaly starts to stick again near the end but you just need to re-lube again or put up with it and keep pressing the bleed button. not sure if its cos the lube you get with it is rubish or what but if its the same problem as mine fresh lube should work, not lube thats been on for a day or 2. i've also raised the dwell a bit to try and help but i cant tell if its helping yet.

Thanks for the reply. When I had it relubed it seemed to work fine again, so it seems that it could well be the bolt getting stuck.

Do you use the DYE slick lube?

Hopefully it will just be a case of using a different lube and nothing more complicated.

yeah thats what i use, i've not tryed it with anything else but next time i may see how it works with a diffrent make. just make sure you put the lube on at the site just before your first game and if you play all day replace the lube half wy throgh and it should be fine.

May be the lube, may just be a fault on the marker...who knows. Let me know if you try any different lube on it please.

I suggest throwing it away and buying a new one :D
I would if I had the money! :p

Hello,

Sorry you have been having issues, just caught this.

You shouldnt need to relube an SLG for about 12,000 shots so something else must be up here.. Is the Hyper 3 set correctly as per the manual? Are O-Rings all the correct sizes?

Wish i could help more here but i dont know so much SLG wise.

Please email Ash who heads up DYE tech support on achaplen@dyeprecision.com

Best regards,

Tommy

Hey Tommy, I appreciate your input. The o-rings all seem fine and it seemed to chrono fine.

I will send Ash an e-mail and see what the response is.

Thanks again.

**EDIT - It seems Ash is out of the office until the 28th. Will update everyone when I recieve a response.
