So, any ideas where i can get a replacement remote locking key for my 05 plate VW Golf? The dealer and some locksmiths want £180, can anyone do any better?

if its remote central locking you have to get it coaded so it will recognise your car think you are going to have to bite the bulit and pay the £180
Yep, ebay sell the fobs but it will need to be coded. There is a piece of kit that can code it bu the people that own them seem to be leading a double life as ****ty highway pirates.
It used to be that you could get the code from VAG dealers and then program your new key using third party VagCOM software, but I understand now that the only way a VAG dealer can access the code is to hook up directly to the new live diagnostic software that they have. It is possible to get a key you have sourced yourself coded but may have to be done via a dealer.
