looking to get a spool valve to accompany my Ego..., , not got cash for a Geo, but what can you recommend??

DM's and Driods seem a bit scarce and don't know too much about Angel's..

angels are not spoolers.

if you want something cheaper than a shocker NNXT or a PL Shocker might be a good way to go.

sorry for my ingorance, , honestly thought that Angel's were spoolers..

what are the pro's and cons of spoolers/poppetts

i know that my ego's very efficient & quick, but can be a little harsh on paint and noisy. Also spoolers seem to have a better range and accuracy.

are my assumptions correct?

Range is nothing, that is based on velocity and paint to bore match
Spoolers are generally quieter and softer on paint, but that all depends on your set up to be honest. The maintenance isnt exactly Harder than other markers, because if your used to it, you can do it just as quick as any other marker, its just they generally require you to open up the top tube thing to get to the bolt assembly.
Spoolers are generally abit more efficient on air (ithink) quieter and softer on paint, but it depends on the one you chose because a Droid for example is WAY more efficient than a shocker, shockers will hog your air in no time atall generally.

You also have the advantage of reduced kick with spoolers.

Spool valve guns will be less air effecient but they are more softer on paint and more quite.
Unless you plan on playing recball or dont play at training site or tournament this wont matter to you as they pretty much all have compressors on site now.

Spool valves do tend to me more accuracte, this is because they are softer on paint and therefore is under less deformation in the firing cycle.

another advantage of a spool valve type gun is that although they wont shoot a ball any further than any other gun set to the same fps they do tend to shoot "flatter" whereas the ego's and similar tend to arch alot .

Angels are poppets like egos, battery in the left tube and the rammer in the right..

Ive had spoolies but hated the fsdo
