Probably not, both the Hyper2&3 are great performing regulators.
However, I'd easily swap to a CP if I wanted a different feel for the marker in question.

Personally I prefer that the macroline fitting comes out of the bottom like on the CP and not out of the side as featured on the Hyper3 regulator.

Indeed, that was what I meant

Like you I prefer the elbow at the base rather than on the side with a swivel, less to go wrong, less o-rings and a better feel, to me. As to performance, there really isn't much in it between the Hyper2/3 and the CP IMHO.
