Hi this might be abit long so sorry.
New to paintball and my first marker is my new mini. took it out the box, bottle on, paint in new magna, new batteries and shot shot shot shot break break!! turned the hopper speed down shot 100 then break break.
Have managed to get it to do 2000 with out a break by closing the regulator down from 200 to 180, fitted a freak system, also changed the eye break speed to max delay.
yesturday i decided to try turning up to 200 on the reg and dry fire it.... it started to fire five shots fine the sounds like half a shot (very little flow). when i do this reading the gauge on the asa it drops from bouncing between 200-150 to below 100?? my thoughts were a bottle regulator restriction. it is a second hand bottle. can i strip this down to inspect without having to have it retested?? but it is a stako so is it a throw away job?? or can i fit a new reg?? or am i looking in total tjhe wrong place??
any advise would be great, apart from the 'just give it to a shop type answers', but then if thats the only way....just dont like admitting defeat.
Cheers for looking.

Testing only checks the vessel and not the regulator.

I'm pretty sure you can't replace the regulator on a stako.

You can. And the stock regs put on by those who import stakos are generally quite terrible.

But when dealing with HP Air I would never advise anyone to do it themselves.

So do it like tom suggests (dam you Tom and your ninja posting).

Edit, also try a different barrel to the freak (stock barrel is probably better).

Freaks still have a good name from yesteryear, but its not 2001 anymore.
There are barrels available with much better quality, design and tolerances.

Cheers for the advise.
Tried the bottle on my mates mini and was firing fine:(. forgot to take mine in to try his bottle.
Could it be the board messing around and holding the solinoid open for too long/solinoid messing around etc? didnt notice any hissing but has anybody had this problem?
Has an optimus 1.2, board fitted but have heard the early boards were tempremental, is this the newer board?
Fitted the freak because with the standard barrel it kept breaking. was working fine-ish with it running at 180 but would start to drop off when it ramps up. Turned it up to 200 and all went wrong.
Where would i get a differant bottom reg from?

hi bolter seems to know what hes talking about when it comes to minis because I just got some. He told me to use these settings;

PSP mode
Bip 6 (in cold weather, turn this up to 12 if you chop)
Ramp start 8
Dwell 35
ROF 10.5

See how it works :)
