My nipple wont go in!

Just got my hands on a bottle out of test, and needs a fill nipple! i have a new CP one i just tried to fit, but it will only seem to screw in half way! my other bottle has a bit of thread remaining on the nipple but not as much as this?

Is this normal? will it be ok? should it be loctite'ed in?

Some of them have tapered threads. Compare the two together and see.

It should be ok. Good idea to thread lock it. As long as it isn't wobbling in the threads as you screw it in, threadlock should be good.

Just for future reference, may I ask what the difference between a tapered and non-tapered thread is?
