May be of a silly question but just want to make sure.

Ive just bought a Viewloader Orion (being delivered tomorrow) and was wondering if it makes any difference if i fill my bottle with CO2 or air?

This is why there should be a trained person filling bottles everywhere.

Forget air training for individuals, site owners must take responsibility for the air they provide.

Okay dude, as you can probably guess by the responses, filling your bottle is something that should only be attempted once you have been shown how to do it safely and know exactly what you're doing. You're dealing with very high pressures which can be very dangerous if not handled correctly. You can tell what type of bottle you have in several ways, but the easiest is to look and see if there's a pressure gauge/fill nipple on the side. No? Then it's probably CO2. Never fill a bottle with anything it's not intended for! Take it to your local site and have them fill it. Ask them if they can show/explain how to do this, and then after watching a few times and listening very carefully you may attempt to do it yourself, unless you're under the age of 16, in which case I recommend you have an adult perform the task for you. That's my advice anyway.

How old are you?

Let's be honest that is a really stupid question. Anyone would know that playing about with different gasses makes things go bang if not handled correctly.

It's obvious your a hazard so give the bottle to a site owner to check over for you or go to a dive center, just anywhere that can tell you the right answer.

My new sig :D

Dude, just read some of the theads in the air section and get you're bearings first. Lots of info knocking around on here which will give you some basic knowledge. Then, like Dev says, then go and speak to you're local site before you do anything else.....please.

Most importantly, you asked the question. Credit to you, now just keep asking and you'll be just fine.

Having thought about it, that was a bit of a dumbass question.

Then why buy a marker that runs CO2?

You can get CO2 in small bottles that pubs use, if you are willing to invest in that.
