Stako bottle loosing air?

hey
i recently got a stako bottle, i used it at one walkon so far and its been great.
i filled it up at 3000 psi just before i went home and its been in my kit bag till today. it had the fill nipple cover and the yellow cap on top.
i pull it out today and bam it read 500 psi??????
screw it in my gun and it leaks air, (since there is not enough pressure to gas it up)
does this normally happen?
is it designed to loose air
im sure the burst disc hasn't gone since there's still some left
any help?

Most bottles lose air if left in them for a while. But if in any doubt or you have any worries contact H-Pac.

how long ago was it that you filled your tank? if it was only a matter of a few days it shouldnt have lost that much air.

Next time, when you will come back home from a paintball day

fill up a plastic container / tub (e.g. food storage container)

or a mug with water and submerge the bottle, more, the reg

of the bottle in the water. You will find out where the bottle

is loosing its air through. I personally have got two 1.1L 4.5k

air tanks. One keeps solid pressure for weeks, the other one

can drop 1000 PSI over a week. The air is leaking through

the gauge thread, it's minor and I cannot be bothered to sort

it out, even thou I have got Loctite at home.. lazy *******

well it was last filled 8th feb
the reg is stock and i dont wanna unscrew it....
i heard stakos are supposed to bleed air through teh threads?
am i right?

Seems like a reg leak to me, 10 days to loose 2500psi is pretty fast.

Yeah, a bit too fast Put the bottle (with air in it) into the water.

Stakos don't have a rigid inner like most bottles, more like a balloon that inflates but is stopped from over inflating and/or bursting by the very strong carbon fibre wrap. If the bottle is completely emptied the inner deflates and causes a vacuum between it and the fibre wrap. This causes some air to be drawn in through the wrap. When the bottle is re-filled this air is forced out, which causes the bubbling effect that has been seen on Stako bottles, but this air is not from the fill itself, so wouldn't cause your bottle to loose pressure.

It is most likely a leak from either your reg's pin valve or the fill nipple. Even with a cover on the fill nipple air could escape if there's any grit or dirt stopping the piston from re-sealing fully, the same with the pin valve. slight leaks are common and nothing to really worry about, during a days play filling before each game you'd never notice it, only if you fill before you leave the field and go back a few days later. As mentioned in the thread, immerse the reg in water (with the bottle filled) and see where the bubbles come from, then you'll know where the problem lies.

ok i found out that air is leaking from the "bonnet", the top half of the reg.
and air bubbles are slowly coming out of the fill nipple but im guessing thats cause air is allready trapped in there
so game plan:
de-pressurise the bottle
unscrew the screws holding the bonnet
tighten it
re-apply screws
this good guys?
