Is paintball a sport

Right im not arguing about this with any one on here .

Well to start of me and my friend at college were discousing with our class about sports and what is and what wasnt. our tutore asked what type of sports we do,so me and my friend said paintball , so a few others in the class said paintball is not a sport so i said yes it is because there is a team involved and tactics and you have aponents and its a phisicale sport . so they argued with me and said if it was a sport why isnt it on tv , so i said it is but iv only seen it in america (youtube).

so realy what i need is if any one on here could point me in the right direction to a aficall web site so that i could print of info to show them it is a sport . or has any one had the same problem that iv had at college with people ? could be at work or any where else.

Thought of showing them psp or nppl vids, there are paid players etc, plenty of arguments. If beach volleyball can be classed as a sport paintball can.

why isnt it on tv? i belive they are now showing pb on eurosport , i have this argument all the time with school mates its not the best way to start a monday morning

If that college you attend has any spelling courses going on, get your ass in there mate ....

I think we can safely say by that definition that Paintball as a whole, (not just Supair) is a sport.

Hmmm, that's one broad-ass description there Echo ..... can we call darts, synchronised swimming, bowls, log chopping, burger eating and lord knows what else, sports?
The problem with defaulting to a dictionary for classification is now obvious

well that is what i want to do , i said to my tutore to look up the meaning to the word sport , so il just have to wait antill thursday to tell every one that it is and show them on youtube and print off information . but i dont think they will listen to me because they were all wrong about it and wont admit it.

i think there will always be this argument as paintball is a newer sport compared to football, cricket e.t.c
i really dont care what people think of paintball, i love it and the biggest thing is we have fun and i know i do

In the UK paintball isn't a sport as it isn't recognised as one by the UK (British?) sports council.
