I have a reasonably paid job with my own transport and I really want to get into sup air.
Money is no object up to a point, in thesense I dont mind paying out for decent stuff that will last. I'm a firm believer in 'you get what you pay for'

Without going stupid can anybody recommend a :
Mask
Hopper
Marker
Pack
Clothing

I appreciate some of it will suit certain people and it's a case of try before you buy but I least need recommendations of what to try and the best kit to spend my money on

I am going to be one of the few that dont reply, with an item that I have for sale in my thread. Just a bit of advice as I wasted a lot of money getting into the sport where I would buy crap and need to replace it.

Ego's are very nice markers that are very easy to look after and shoot well. an ego08 is a very high end marker and will be going for £400. Ego07 will go for £300 odd and a Ego SL8R the highest end marker of the egos are for sale on here at the moment ranging from £750 - £850 depending on usage.

Mask, I think Grills look the best (but are most painful in the mouth area) JT's are awesome for their customisability and E-vents for their Comfort.

Hopper new one on the block is the best I have used. Although I havent used a pinokio. Its very easy to clean and look after.

Clothing, I would always go with Eclipse, the arm pads and knee pads are very comfortable, the Jerseys are nicely designed and comfortable, the pants are well padded but all in all they look the bees-knees.

Pack I would go with NXE pack as they are the most adjustable and comfortable.

This is IMO (In my opinion), and tbh, I would just take all the stuff I said and put it on your list to try, although u might have money from your job no one likes to waste money. Dont take what we say go out there are TBYB (try before you buy).

Cheers,

Jett - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FLAME ME GUYS :D:D:D:p:p:p

Mostly what snax said, although if you're newer, it may pay off to get a vlocity, or torque, as there push on (or flick) and push off (or flick) no possibility of messing any settings up (dum de dum...:p)

Definately best to go secondhand, if you decide it isn't for you, then you can sell it all on for pretty much what you paid.
If it were me, I'd look at-

DM7 or 8, or the Eclipse Ego 7 or 8. Both in the £300-450 bracket, and solid, reliable markers, with lots of people out there who know them and can help if they break.

Hopper - Either a Halo or Reloader B, £40ish on here.

A nice Fibre wrapped bottle for £80ish upwards.

Clothing - who cares - pick what looks nice. Pads are also much of a muchness - pick what you fancy!

Mask. the one thing I'd buy new - they're all good, but the events and the various JT models are my personal favourites.

If money's no object, I'd be tempted to drop £100 into a cheap backup marker such as an SLG or PMR or Ion too...

I can only say that PaintballJett is right on the mark with his suggestions...!!
I also think you could say a fortune in the long run by not buying cheaper alternatives...
You would only end up selling them soon after if you really are into paintballing like me and everyone else on here!!LOL

ego 07, 1.1ltr fibrewrap bottle, vlocity hopper, proflex goggles, eclipse pants, eclipse jersey, gauntlet gloves. you'd be looking about £500 and that would be an awesome setup. obviously there is lots to choose from and for marker you'd be best off going somewhere and trying a couple out. see which you like :)

Mask's - are generally whatever fits your face / head the best :) but go for top end ones .. Event's, Grillz, the Flex range, I3's / I4's etc.

Marker - Any newish Ego's or Matrixes.

Hopper - Rotor, Prophecy, reloader, halo, torque and my personal fave Vlocity

Bottle - Any good fibre wrap with good test :) i recommend DXS

Pack - NXE

Clothing - Always found Eclipse as the best for your money :)

In general, get anything High end and it will be very good. The different makes / models are just down to preference

Thanks for all your replies, I appreciate it.
I like the look of the Ego's and I know a lad who is into paintballing so I will see what kit he has and try some bits out and then I'm sure I will be having a gander through the for sale section :D
