speak to people in your union, about how to set up a society they would be your best bet, plus you will need a decent amount of members to keep your society running

It varies depending on the structure of your student union, but should be clearly outlined on your uni's student union website. It usually involves getting some initial interest in the form of a petition, then filling in a form and appearing before a body of people to try to get ratified. Then, if you play your cards right you'll have club markers, bunkers and a reballing venue and 2.5k a year to subsidise events and buy new equipment. It takes a lot of commitment (organising broke students, transport, running for executive committee positions just to explain your massive budget requests in person, etc.) and is a thankless task, but is all worth it in the end.

In fact, here you go.

If you do it, play up the benefits to students (ie large rental days etc) you could give, and play down the funding you'll need. Mention inter-uni cooperation, fundraising etc. Don't just say you're gonna pi$$ about with a few mates at tourney events. Bring a copy of PGi or something to show what you do. Have a think. Then when you're foot's in the door you strike!

We earn that kind of funding, trust bro. We also get a bit of income from the reball sessions we run twice a week. Anyone's welcome to come to those btw (£4 each 4 hr session, or £5 for sat AND sun.):)

Yeah, good luck.
I'm in northampton, and there's litterally nothing paintball related here. It sucks. You have to go to the other side of Milton Keynes to get a site to play at.
Plus I can't imagine it'd be easy to generate enough interest to warrant a union to supply that amount of gear.
:/
I mean hell, I wouldn't be able to administrate something like that, and as far as I can tell I'm the only one in Nampton uni who even wants to start a team.

I've considered approaching the union about it, but decided against it.
