I've been using rechargable PP3's or AA's in my hopper or markers for around 18 months. I've had no real problems other than finding they discharge more quickly than alkaline batt's in really cold weather.
I always check mine on a voltage meter (bought from maplins) to test output.
Brands tried so far are energiser, Duracell and Ansmann
I have same Maplins voltage meter to test batteries
and that is the odd thing on the PP3 (9V) it is showing a full charge on the meter BUT when i put them in velocity it shows red light and can barely make it spin. If i put ordinary batteries in it works fine
are you using the PP3 (9V) in a marker which probably uses a lot less power or are you using them in a hopper?
