If my ageing memory serves - most paintball 'gear' (apart from the marker) started out life in the motocross world. I still remember my old Scott goggles. *off to reminisce*

I've got a tshirt thats 10 year old and it's still going strong. All i can say is quality.

Actually it was a guy called John Gregory who started JT with his wife called Rita. The original company was as you suggested, purely Motocross with John and Rita selling Motocross socks out the back of their truck.

John and Rita grew that company to one of the top Motocross interests; when it began to taper off, John looked toward paintball, and with exactly the same foresight and management skills, he made the JT Paintball company an enormous success and was finally bought out by the K2 guys for 32 million dollars, not bad for a dentist from, I think it was Colorado.
The ironic thing was, John would have sold that company for 5 million but when that offer was slapped on the table, he couldn't help himself from saying 'YES PLEASE' :)

John and Rita's daughter Rhonda worked for JT and went on to marry Dave Youngblood who then both created the Dye dynasty.
Funny how it all works out really .....

I'm not being funny Robo (and trust me your the last person i'm going to get arsy with) but i found that really intersesting.

I kind of know the history of Planet but i really don't know to much about other paintball companies. Maybe you could start a monthly column type thing Robo about the history of paintball. Giving a bit of history about the major companies and how things have changed etc. :)
