but is that the same for all the other divisions??
I cannot speak about this first hand because i have never been to a US event BUT 2 teammates of mine went to the last nppl in vegas i believe, they stayed with Glenn and Davey aswell as all the other boys from infamous.
They said that after the pro division the level of play drops incredibly. From what i can see the SPL isnt that far off the CPL, deffinately not on a player to player basis.

Maybe robbo or someone else who has been to US events can comment on the level of play in the other divisions.

The level of paintball in the CPL is very high
Compared to what exactly????
The leagues below ????

If you are comparing to the Yanks then you are wrong, the average quality is way below - and has already been mentioned, take the Yanks outa the Euro teams and the average quality plummets like a lead anvil.

The only arguments against this are self-interested, demented hogwash.

The only way for us Euros to regain some integrity here is to open up the leagues, allow real Euro teams (teams with all Euros on it like Joy) to flourish and go up against quality opposition (the Yanks coming over) and then we might be able to hold our heads up again.

Why does the MS interest the yank teams ? what does it have that they dont have back in the US ? In this time of economic crissis and struggle how is the added cost of transatlantic travel a viable option ?

Kars, go back 5 years mate and the MS was a fantastic attraction for the Yanks, in 2003 at the Campaign Cup, there was something like ten top yank teams and that's not counting some guys who were guesting.

The Americans have historically viewed the MS as a welcome change to their own domestic series and as such came over in droves mate.
We need to get back to that situation if we wanna improve our events and also improve the quality of the European player / team.

I think, as you suggest, there will be some impact felt by the American player due to the financial climates but those guys will still wanna come over.

yeah Robbo i get that they did (back in 2003 etc) but what i cant get my head around is why. Where these mythical toulouse events that i keep on hearing about actually so great ? i wasnt in the scene that far back but ive tried to do my research on it.

btw when you say 10 pro yank teams went to CC was that all in the Pro division ? or in lower one ?
but none of this will happen until the open the the cpl and spl divs.

unless they have a fight to the death over the handful of spots that are for sale lol

personally i cant see this ever happening. The way that the MS is run atm it will not open their top divisions, especially not if you consider the revenue it generates for them.

Well, the fact you can't get your head around it is I'm afraid your problem, the fact is they did come across in relatively large numbers.

As for Toulouse?
No real need to do any research other than to acknowledge the tournaments then used to have a real buzz, majorly due to so many yank teams coming over and these guys then providing some much needed colour and character.

The Toulouse event itself was also bigger and seemed to have a tangible atmosphere going on as against the somewhat sterile and neutral atmospheres we have now.

It was open then ....

You're all Crazy (except Pete)

Rage and Arsenal were rumored to be coming over because they are not in the 12-team NXL, couldn't play the NPPL (for obvious reasons), and still wanted to play Pro. They would enjoy playing a season in Europe, I'm sure.

However, now there is the new 'NPL' league I expect they will play that (starting with HB in April) and play 7 man in the US instead.
I don't see them coming over when they have a solid 'Pro' alternative on US soil.
And those people that think these 2 teams would struggle are wrong. They would be top 4 along with Joy and Philly, in pretty much every event, if they were to come over.

I really don't think they will though.
