Think me mate has one of the worst jobs for this christmas, he is serving in Afghan with JFEOD - Joint Forces Exlposive Ordnance Disposal Unit.

He has the joyous task of flying in with the RAF and running a hand held X Ray device over anyone that has been shot or hit before they are allowed on board.

This is irrespective of their medical needs and how life threatening their injuries are. Bear in mind this can be and often is while they are still under enemy attack.

If their are two many casualties, he and his 4man infantry fire team will be left behind to continue the good fight until there is another chopper available to extract. Their only blessing is the US will provide aerial support in the guise of an Apache attack helicopter.

Personally I will be eating Turkey and watching my kids unwrap their presents this christmas safe in the knowledge our troops are trying to destroy the drugs that are produced in Afghan.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Wait!
No-one said anything about destroying drugs!
I don't mind the lads looking for Osama, or going after the Mullah's, but destroying Drugs???

This has ruined my Christmas...

That sounds pretty bad :(, I think that 'wins' the worst job.

In the past my mum has worked on christmas eve/christmas day (in the police), and has had to deal with pretty horrifying things as christmas tends to have higher levels of domestic violence, a few years ago she had to deal with a dad who had killed his 2 kids and then himself.

It was lovely working in a below zero doorway on christmas eve till 2am boxing day the same then again the friday, saturday, sunday. Then got a cheeky little drink on the 29th to return once again till silly am new years eve, all new years day and night followed by a nice early 2am finish for the whole of the first weekend in 09.

People are very pleasant during the festive season with only a few abrupt ejections to warm me threw.

I think next year i may find myself a tad poorly and under the weather like every other normal sane person lol :D
