8 hours stuck at the border because they dont like your passport
and haven to pay the brder police to get it back.

but all and all there is some good events there
Ukraine is a not the best place right now due to the rising political tension caused by the global crisis mixed with a little bit of local flavour.

In essence, this is a power-play by the Centurio...
Gentlemen,

to make it clear: there is no more such thing as Centurio.
Back in November, Centurio Board vote to dismiss the league (which is a mistake IMHO). Later all assets were divided, the Centurio company was closed. So it's not "Centurio and ECS decided to work together", it's "some former Centurio partners made a new league with ECS".
No one cal talk from the Centurio name now.

Pete, have you changed your stance on this subject since the alliance of the Millennium with the PSP? In the past you seem to have advocated a move away from Millennium, if a viable alternative was offered. If this new alliance of the eastern/central European series is an alternative then, IMHO, competition is not a bad thing to keep the Millennium on its toes and ensure it delivers the customer the package they want at the right price. As you have implied before, monopolies suck.

I pretty much agree with what you say; you must remember though, I'm not advocating anybody goes anywhere, I just gave my opinion on certain matters. But if I had to choose, I'd probably stay with the Mill / PSP union league because now the Millennium guys have to answer to somebody.

I suppose I am also defaulting to pragmatism here because I have had extensive experience both sides of the Atlantic with the political machinations of the 'higher ups'.

The Yanks, whether we like it or not, in practical terms, rule the roost and if they are setting up a new world order, which by the way, I have been advocating for years now, and in total agreement with, then it's pointless trying to go against that especially when they have aligned with your direct competitor (Millennium)... it just seems somewhat reckless and ultimately pointless to me.

But, in saying all this, I have to declare something that is also affecting my opinion and without going into too much detail, somebody has now gotten involved in this eastern league who has agendas outside of giving value for money and he also has a proven track record of putting his pocket way in front of the players and teams.
In fact, he hosted one of the most notoriously bad events in recent years.
I am always hugely skeptical of new initiatives borne on the back, or under the influence of, people like him.
For all the cr@p I have gotten involved with when I go up against the Millennium, Steve Baldwin, Laurent and Barry have always respected my angle on things and have responded in the past and back-tracked on many issues.
They might well have wanted to hire a hit man on some occasoins to see me off but to date, we have all actually remained friends.
I realise this is not an ideal method of operation but it has worked in the past and so my point is, even though the Millennium guys have really fcuked up in the past, they do eventually listen ..albeit reluctantly.
I think they know I ain't going for them for any other reason than to put them on the right road, I don't stand to gain one thing from anybody when I tell them they fcuked up, they know this and maybe they factor it in when they change their minds, I don't really know.

why you were asked to leave the board of the Centurio?
Well, I wasn't asked:)
Actually, I was representing the APG (company I'm working for) in the Centurio, I cant' make event myself without APG team/resourses/infrastructure etc. And sure there were natural in any live project tensions between partners/sponsors/orgs. APG made good events but some mistakes as well, most were solved, some wasn't mistake from our point of view.
So in November we arrived in the Centurio meeting just to learn that APG is not acceptable as partner anymore but I can stay as president. Which wasn't a choice for me.
Some other reasons arn't correct to discuss in the open forum.

Oh, Merry Cristmas everybody :)

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Tomasz Matuszewski. I was the board member of Centurio in past and organizer of Warsaw event, and now I'm board member of the Grand Tour league. I'd like to explain some issue about the current changes in Centurio and Grand Tour.

The Grand Tour league is the result of merge between European Central Series and Centurio Circuit. As Nikolai explained already Centurio board decided to dismiss the league which was partially the result of creation of new league. Half of the Centurio board together with promoters from ECS create the new league.

In opposite to some opinion, The Grand Tour is not an alternative or competition to Millennium Series. In fact we've been cooperating with Millennium Series since few years already, by following the standards and sport solutions developed by Millennium. We are still working together and supporting Millennium Series in creation of european paintball federation.
I would say we are complementary league in the part of Europe that was virgin area for paintball competition.

The main goal of Grand Tour league is the same like it was 5 years ago for Centurio - to develop paintball sport competition in Central and Eastern Europe, to build the structure like Western Europe already had in Millennium.

The new system of Grand Events and conference events solves two major problem of our market. There is a demand for tournaments with high level of competition and also there is demand for regional development in countries where paintball is still relatively week. For those who would like to try themself in tough competition with big names like Bullets, Russian Legion we got Grand Events with the best teams from our region. For young local teams that want to try international paintball adventure we got low cost, close distance conference events.

I have to replay also to "misterious person" that's stands behind the creation of Grand Tour league. There is no such a person. Pete, your description of misterious evil person sounds familiar, but I can assure you that the board of Grand Tour consist only of the "original central-eastern european" promoteurs ;) Tons of people feel oblige to give us advises and we listen to them carefully, cause first - we are polite, second - sometimes they got the point. But we are quite assertive and at the end we dont let anyone influnece the decision we made if it is against the interest of the league.

If you need any more info about the Grand Tour league, please dont hesitate to contact us directly.

The Grand Tour board member.

Hi Tomasz, I never said a mysterious person was behind the creation of your series, so please try and be correct whenever you quote me.

And secondly, you mention the fact you are not in competition with the Millennium and go on to say 'we've been cooperating with Millennium Series since few years already' which implies the Millennium knew you were going to expand your series ...are you saying they did know??????

Thirdly, what has Pedro got to do with your league?

Pedro? I knew only one person in Europe could fit that description, but I don't think he would be involved in any way other than as one of the paint sponsors.

Janek, what you think in this case is somewhat academic because I wanna hear what Tomasz has to say on the matter being as he is on the board.
