exactly so if their parents were watching over them like a hawk then they wouldnt be allowed to go to a random area of woodland

yes but there is nothing stopping you taking your little one to some woods that never get used and having a little game is there ?
Ring Ring,
Hello police please.
Yes there's a man in my local woods with a gun.
Don't worry miss, we'll send the tactical nuclear firearms unit to shoot the feck out of him just like we did on the london tube recently.

So exactly how responsible is the kind of parent that allows their kids to have guns.

Besides, my parents were strict and banned me from owning a gun. So that's why i went behind their backs, bought myself a gun and got myself a firearms conviction. That was 25 years ago before the era of easy money and internet ordering!:(

I think one of the problems is that you seem to be pushed into joining a team if you want to try torney style paintball.

Personally I`ve no time, money or interest to put towards being in a team and proper tournament play.
I just want to play some paintball at least once a month, have fun and that's it.

hmmm might be pissing into the wind here but i play scenarios with a couple of other guys and we were just idly chatting about tourneys and realised we knew sod all about them! (whats involved where to join up etc)
Perhaps at these 100 pound tourneys there should be some sort of walk on for people who have never tried it? A six weekly newbie league with restrictions on gats to keep the startup costs down. Coz i'm not going to buy an ego or dm just to see if i like sup air and i'm damned sure my a5 is a wee bit big 'n' heavy for sup...?.
Plus it can be a bit daunting going someplace where you havent got a scooby whats going on and there's a bunch of guys all kitted out with top of the line gear......
i don't have the answers just questions :D

have been thinking a lot recently about how to promote tourney ball in the UK aswell as the sport in general.so far the ideas i have come up with dont seem to be very popular.
these ideas included a schools tournament league (school teams versus school teams etc)

counties divisions/teams.

a new format altogether (still working on this one as its a complete rethink on the game as we know it)

paintball radio and a weekly paintball newspaper similar to MCN/Bargain ages which would be distributed to all major retail outlets so it would be right in the publics eye.

im till all for these ideas and am constantly trying to think up new ones and more viable ones etc.

but hey ho.

i think paintball should be marketed more as a video game because thats whats gonna appeal to young folk nowadays thats what got me into the sport , im gonna be honest that i thought it was gonna be the whole rambo kind of thing like any first timer but after a while of playing i went off that idea.

and i think this pressing for new players to do sup air is a bit off. because i honestly don't know a single person that started playing on a sup air field.
For me it started of paintball birthday parties then i would go and rent and play just normally not as a special occasion kind of thing, only then did i get my own gun and start looking into sup air.

so i say get more folk in the woods,

get paintball put out as less of a once a year kind of thing and more of a this is what you can do at the weekend kind of thing

then people will make their own choice if they want to get their own stuff, stay in the woods or go play sup air.

paintball will never be a sport like basketball or football because you cant just pick up your gun and go to your local park to play. but for a sport only a few decades old were not doing horribly bad are we? i mean when football started out it was just blokes running from town to town booting crap out of each other for a ball. so i think paintball is gonna change alot until we get it right and make it veiwable for tv and the public

also 3 man for the win its cheaper, it goes faster, you get cooler moves and it would be easier to follow with a camera because of the smaller field

rant over :D
sorry if its disorganized but im really tired :p
