I don't think it will be high on the agenda at this meeting (The PSP / Millennium meeting) but it will surface somewhere down the line Markie. So do you think they will be talking on how to make it cheeper for players to play paintball and giving bang for buck??
Yeah didnt mean it as industry thing,
But seems funny whos dime are they flying out on to one of the most expensive places in the world to have a ""Meeting""
Sorry if it is a bit negative of me to go on like this but wioth the current situation as it is with the whole world at the moment i think certianlly it should be all about the players and how it should be made cheeper and better for them.
I just think things are run with the player last thing on the menu and how that issues like "You must only wear a sponsor on your top who actully supports the event" and other things of that nature come up first.
God i really sound bitter for some reason, i think i have just been reading to much of what ever one writes about how they feel let down all the time by events and how they feel that their is no real body to support the player's.
Sorry if i have took this way of track.
Yeah my bag i am watching to much news 24 its warpping my mind about all these fat cats on their private jets, i am sticking 2 and 2 together and making 17,Markie, since it is their own money that's financing this trip, I do believe they can choose whatever they want and the only reason they are going to Vegas is because that's where the PSP guys chose to have their meeting.
What would you have the Millennium guys do?
Tell Dave Youngblood and the rest of the PSP guys, 'oh sorry, can we all meet in Cleethorpes because people might think we are having a jolly at their expense' ..... Come on Markie WTF !!!!!
And if you think the paintball industry is set up to do everything it can for the player, then this has to be one of the most naive and ridiculous ideas I have ever heard..
It's like saying corporations and businesses are set up purely to make customers feel better.
Profit drives commerce, not ideals Mikey, if you take your present ethos and impose it upon paintball, we would have no industry inside a year, no argument mate.
I think you need to take a deep breath Mikey and look at whatever problems we face from a much wider, and more commonsense perspective.
Take some Prozac mate and post again, the world will seem a better place after that
Actually, Vegas is pretty much the cheapest place in the US to get to. The Gambling commission work with the airlines to subsidise flights, and the hotels work deals for groups so that they get people staying near thier casino's. So Markie, the PSP have actually chosen the most cost effective meeting ground in the USA, which is where their league is based.Yeah my bag i am watching to much news 24 its warpping my mind about all these fat cats on their private jets, i am sticking 2 and 2 together and making 17,
But i am standing on the players bit mate, (and its markie not mikey
All we see is players saying that they some times think that they are having a bum deal and all this money and that money that is shelled out
Hell there is even a how many page post about it, i dont think that comparing it to any other business model is fair ether, that's what i think maybe whats wrong then with this paintball situation then if a tournament is run just to make money then it is not customer based is it?
I think its about supply and demand and with every thing as it is at the moment then if the supply goes down then the first thing to do is look at cost or what can be given as more bang for your buck ( i hate that phrase).
Is this why we cant be taken serious as a sport because we are based solely to make money?
I know the sports council wont do it because we dont have a sporting body that is non-profit.
I honestly dont know, i am trying to make for a good debate but maybe i am all wrong.
Like i say i am commentating on what i read i dont really have the experience to make big statements like this but from what you read as in ""only guns can be used if said company sponsors the event"" and only logos can be worn on jerseys that support the event""
whats going to happen to all the little company's who i dont know lets say design tops for people or training sites or forums that support a team they are just going to be left out, and it would be a shame because that where some of the most good ideas and concepts come from in paintball.
Didn't WDP have a problem when the MS said they couldn't tech guns??? and there was uproar from them ?? its sort of the same thing isn't it ?
i am not saying they shouldn't be in it to all to make money but helping the person who the business is based around some thought should really go in to it shouldn't it??
