Does the paint you decide to shoot make a difference to the game?

I have just returned from Paris and have noticed that out of the 16 finialist from CPL, SPL, Div1 and 2 ( Sorry not including M5)

11 of the 16 were all using one make of paint.

So does the make of paint help you get podium places????

Yes I belive so, people spend hundreds on different markers, hoppers, barrels ect all trying to improve their game but fail to realise that the paint they shoot is the deciding factor. I think in a game of two totally equal teams employing the same tictacs (tactics) will be decided by the paint

I agree its about the paint and not always how flash or sparkly the equipment is. We are all using 12bps capped rof and the wide range of markers and barrels available it really does boil down to how consistent the paint is.

I remember being offered a couple of pots of a different type of paint at the last UKSM just to be used at the end of the day, and I can remember getting down to those pot whilst loading and firing down the left tape... my original paint was firing true and then as the 'other' paint started feeding through I had a couple of pops straight away as the paint broke in the breech and barrel and it was all over the place. The guy in the snake who stuck his pack out should have been tagged straight away but it took nearly half a hopper just to get one on target.

DM's PM's Ego's Angel's whatever... if the paint is poop it reduces them all to misfiring soup shooters...

think alot of manufacturers have withdrawn support packages etc, if its the company i presume it is they still seem to be doing good deals and support hence people choosing them. its obviously great paint but as with anything prices have gotta be taken into account unless your on a full sponsor package in which case youve earnt the free paint anyway whichever company gives it to you.

if ya took a box of top spec paint from each of the main manufactures i think the difference would be minimal.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Remember the paint is only as good as the equipment and can change in shape and size depending on the weather, so you may have the best barrel that DYE make and a DM ( I am using these as an example) but if the barrel is a small bore and the paint is a large bore then your nice shinny gun and barrel will be a soup making machine.
Now having said that if all your equipment is set up right then you have to take the weather into account, and if the weather is good and the paint is stored right for those conditions then yes it will come down to the paint, but also the player refs etc.

If you are using a barrel kit with different bore sizes, and sizing your barrel to be a nice snug fit to your paint, then don't take out more than one brand of paint, as small variations between brands may be enough to cause barrel breaks, when you have sized for one brand of ball initially.
If you want to start mixing different makes/models of paintball I recommend overboring and using a 0.691 or 0.693 barrel/barrel back/bore size and that should mean next to no barrel breaks for pretty much all paintballs out there at the expense of your accuracy to one degree or another.
