You might, I and plenty of other 'ballers call them gats, guns or shooters and paint is most definitely bullets. The idea of paintball is to distance ourselves from the real world of gun's, thats why we don't call markers 'guns' and paintballs 'bullets or pellets'.
I'd like to see more innovation in paint tech; top "bullet" brands like Hellfire/Evil already perform about as well as can be expected for an organic product, usually the weather is the worst enemy - the instant we get a cold/hot spell most paint stops performing as well unless it has been kept in temperature-controlled containers and players rotate pots etc.
Hell, even simple things like foil bags for the paint (to keep the temperature more constant) would make a serious difference to the average player and I don't understand why they haven't been adopted years ago?
Something along the lines of a corn-starch (or other bio-degradable) plastic shell that is far more impervious to temperature differences would also improve consistency and roundness too and the technology used could be easily transferred if Bon's idea of shaping our rounds takes off.
There again, paint innovation isn't as sexy as a new anno job, so that's probably my answer right there.
