marker

First question id ask is what is your budget and what are your future plans , i.e supair , woodsball etc .

The mini is a very neat compact gun

are you gona buy new or 2nd hand??

a mini isnt the most air efficent maker but its good enough if you have a 1.1 air system.

another marker to consider is the proto slg as they are a good starter marker.

But a invert mini is a good starter maker to get you going and not to hard to maintain either

well! i have a ion and i love it and dont care what all the haters say out there :p i can still shoot as straight as them!

seriously though its all down to personal preference, here u will only get biased answers and haters spoiling the thread.

go to you local shop and just ask to dry fire a few and see which one u like the feel of most! :)

As already asked, what Is your budget and how do you see yourself playing paintball in the future?

A Smart Parts Vibe is a great starter marker for around £85 new.
However, you can get a second hand PMR for around the same price, better marker too (features wise anyway).

Mini is a nice marker, too small for my hands though, feels wrong.

Good attitude...

Bad attitude...

Yes, you may get some biased answers.
Yes, you may get some people who voice their dislike for an Ion, or any other marker.
Yes, peoples views may be clouded by the disgusting moral stance taken by Smart Parts.

No, this place isn't full of people like that, this is not PBN.
No, we do not appreciate people like yourself, slating this Forum and it's members generally.

So behave yourself, if you don't mind:D

Charlie900.

Dude, get back with how much you can spend on the marker on it's own, as was suggested, as well as what you intend to use it for.
People will find it easier to make suggestions. The Mini is good and is one of the higher end markers, but may be a little complicated with regards to servicing and getting repaired if required.

State your budget and advice will be forthcoming.

having used ions, minis, eteks and a few others I can say that all of those 3 will do a good job for a new player.
The main thing really is what your budget is and which you prefer the feel of.
Like me, personally I don't like minis because they are too small, I like the size and weight of the eteks and ions, and again I prefer the etek over an ion because of a few small things, like the trigger and ease of service.

So really, there are a lot of markers that you could get for under £200 now that are fantastic starter markers, so you just need to figure out your budget and go and try a few.

The new PMRs and Proto SLGs are out also, probably worth a look.

If you can afford it, the best newbie marker I can recommend is a Dangerous Power G3. You'll not need to upgrade anything on it, just yet, until you progress far enough to demand more settings, barrels etc. etc. and maintenance and electronics setting is pretty darn simple. It's also only about 400 euros or whatever that is in sterling, and they perform just as well as many 1000+ markers out there!

If you're looking for a high-end marker, I would really advise trying before plonking down the huge amount of cash for one. Take all advice with a pinch of salt, for example, if many many people tell you to get an Ego, it does not mean it will be good for you, it just means many people have them.

I shoot a G3 and soon to be an A1 Fly, and not many people have even seen them, and yet you will hear opinions on why they are bad markers, etc. etc.

Markers are very much a personal thing, if you can, do try some out. If not, here are my recommendations. If you require more info on one of them, you can PM me or ask me on this thread and I'll do my best :) :

Low Budget:
Proto SLG 09 version
where to get: probably fatbobspaintball.co.uk or justpaintball.co.uk. Probably not available yet as they were released only a short while ago.

Mid:
Dangerous Power G3
where to get: www.anarkypaintball.com/shop

High-End:
Angel A1 Fly or just an Angel A1:
again, www.anarkypaintball.com/shop
PM/DM7, 8 or 9
www.fatbobspaintball.co.uk
Ego 07 or 08 (or wait for the 09)
www.planeteclipse.com

If you have so much money your trust fund manager drives a Ferrari:
Ego Sl8R
or
DLX Luxe (affiliated with Smart Parts, but meant to be pretty good..Also has a sexy voice to tell you settings :) )

Those are what I think would be the best choices depending on your budget.

you could pick up a proto slg or rail they retail at £90 to £150 or a BT 4 some thing like that it all depends on your budget and what you wont to use it for
