Monitor or VGA problem

Ok just built a new computer and went to plug in my moniter to VGA card 1st problem was it used DVI output which was fine because i had an adapter for it. However plug it in and nothing screen just stays blank goes into standby mode, Have tried a lot of things i thought could possibly be the monitor but not sure here is the monitor. http://support.packardbell.com/uk/it...m_monitor_A727

P.S the fan on the VGA card is spinning so im thinking it is working....

Have you tried reseating the graphics card?
Tried both dvi ports on the card.
Depending on the card, have you plugged in the extra power required (black 6 pin port) usually in the top corner of the card towards the front of the pc.

Yer tried both ports and reseated the card a few times now, Erm i havnt tried that extra power thing i have a BFG 7800GTX 512mb if that helps. Thanks

I'm sure the 7800 needs the PCI-E power. Should be a cable coming from the PSU.

have you managed to get a system speaker on the motherboard yet?

have you considered the possibility that your DVI to VGA converter is either broken or the wrong type DVI Digital being one possibility as it wont go to analog which VGA is, heres a quick summary.

There is usually one provided with the graphics card, might be worth looking in the box.
