Eclipse vs Dye

Rider

scottishwarriors.co.uk
the rate of fire race might be over, but there is still plenty of development that can be done to bring up effeciency, reduce weight, improve ergonomics, programming, consistancy, lower kick, etc.

why a new model every year? allows people to spend their readies on the latest gat and put money into the manufacturers pocket so they can get on with all that development.

granted, it doesn't need to be yearly, but it does need to happen regularly enough to keep the interest up in the markers and keep the company going.

unless you're "on the bandwagon" then there is no need to out and grab the latest from however, when the next offering from someone else is a handful of weeks away.

if eclipse having something really major developmentally coming up, then after seeing dye's release there'll be no great shakes in them having a later release date. the DM9 doesn't come across as different enough (on paper - having not shot one i would reserve my judgement) to the DM8 to pull the Eclipse brigade away from their items of fixation.

but how much improvement can there be?
same trigger / trigger frame.

Hope i'm impressed:)
The trigger has actually been updated, you can now adjust the angle the trigger sits at in relation to the frame, so not only can you adjust the activation point, you can effectively move where the trigger sits at rest.

The bolt kit is now shorter, reducing the overall length of the gun, and consequentially, the weight too.

The new eye pipe/detent system is awesome, no more magnets, a reliable one-piece pipe/detent combo that works exceptionally well - I have had one in my DM8 for about a month, and I am yet to break a ball, or double feed.

Bling

lets be honest we all love the bling (gun whores club) or we wouldn't go out and buy the toys.
from year to year the ego and the matrix havent changed on mass, but if you compare say an 06 to an 08 then the jump is massive, technology, size, consistancy.
had a dm6 loved it compared to my 7, sold since it had the 8 because it just sat in the bag waiting for its better older brother to brake.

like all developments it takes little steps to get where you are going, if you like dms you'll buy a dm and the same for planet and every other make, so when they come out doesn't really matter as long as its shiny and new someone will buy it.

rant over:cool:
