Have planet missed out / made a mistake in not releasing their new model at the same time as dye released theirs?

Or have planet got a strong enough following to hold out until they feel ready?

Better question: Why do there have to be new models every year, even though nothing's changed, other than the milling?

Very good point - i myself am very disapointed in the new DM9 - i was hoping for at least an lcd display.

Dye always release therestuff before Eclipse, I do however find it funny that the 09 is released in 08!

Dont worry Eclipse will release when ready (world cup like every year) and it will shock the paintball world. As most know there is a major change every two years in the Eclipse makers.

I don't really see that there's much need for major new developments now the arms race to a gazillion balls per second is over. As has been said more likely to be cosmetic changes than anything else.

Thats very true unfortunately, not the money to be made just that need to be able to have markers that shoot way too fast in my opinion. Maybe time fire rates were capped universally but maybe that's a different thread topic...

I think that buddha has a good point with regards to nothing changing but people including me will continue to buy the product so i have to take my hat of to the brands who do release a new marker each year.
