hi all
bit of a rec baller looking to get into paintball and would like some advice,
dunno if im looking a going onto a team or looking at walk ons yet.

marker- been looking at planet eclipse eteks and egos any other ideas?

hopper- used a reloader b and quiet liked it, any thoughts on this?

air- bit confussed here as what to get 1.1 seems to be popular but what about 1.5? and hp or lp any differnce?

any advice on the above would be great.

1.5ltr air bottles are very large and more suited to recballers who will be using a remote line. 1.1ltr is a good size for almost all players unless you have short arms, .8ltr is more suited to people who will be shooting less paint and wanna be making the moves ie. front players.

eteks and egos are extremely good markers and you wouldnt go wrong with either. this like everything else is personal preference, its best to (if possible) try some out first to get a feel for the best for you.

as for hopper reloader b are very good, you might also wanna look at vlocity, halo, pulse and torque. reloader works on sound, vlocity, halo use a vision system. as for the pulse and torque then one man band has put it below.

Neither torques nor pulses use eyes (vision systems). The torque's motor is continuously spinning but the rotor is allowed to slip on a clutch mechanism when there is paint blocking to movement of the drive rotor. The pulse uses rapid changes of on and off spinning to sense when the paint is moving into your marker.

With most pieces of kit there isnt one product that is hands down the best, all have their ups and downs and the best bet is to try them out and see which you like

eteks and ego's are brilliant guns and like evo said you won't go wrong. But in that price range you can also look at spool valve's like the Dye and Proto matrixes or droid's are going fairly cheap on here recently (one for sale at the moment for £350 which is ridiculously cheap!) for a softer shooting quieter gun but a little less efficient. Or an Angel A1 fly .. All great markers but different in their own way, but i personally like eclipse markers.

Reloader's are good hoppers but each have different characteristics. The reloader is very efficient with batteries but some say a little heavy. Vlo (i use one personally) is very light and small and fast, but eats through batteries but a chip will help that. torque's are the same as a vlo but a bit heavier and better for batts. Don't know much about pulse's.

Like Evo said as well, the vast majority of players use a 1.1 to satisfy their needs. But you'll ocassionally find a back player wth a 1.5 when he needs the air and mobility isnt as much of an issue. As well as a fair few people - usually fronts - with a 0.8 for the lightweight and mobility factor when they wont be shooting much to warrant a 1.1

Yeah, i've heard they're great little markers. LiPS are getting an order in from them soonish

I've seen one or two on here two, i know lump had one and i remember seeing one on here for £160 which is nice and cheap though can't remember who was selling it. the G3 is supposed to be ridiculously light also

They are light as hell, 1.86 lbs with stock barrel, ASA, battery, just under the Mini which I think is 1.99. The stock barrel is also surprisingly good.

We stuck a Stako with a Myth reg (illegal, I know..) on a G3, along with a SLY barrel and a VLocity. The total weight: 2.014 kg!!!

held a G3 at training and it was so light and tiny. looks like its a poppet valve with the snatch grip but its acctually a spool.. very nice marker and i loved the flip asa....
sure someone had one for sale on here last week at £200

Got a full new player setup on a raffle here.
The marker is an Etek Ego which, while they are a bit old, are still very good. Not that light or small but they do the job very well, there are also a few good upgrades for it in the raffle.
There is also a 1.1L 4500psi air tank with almost 5 years left on test and a reloader B2, again a very good piece of kit, and mask etc.
