Yeah, talent. In the absence of talent at least people can spend a fortune on the right fashion accessories and get some recognition that way

I remember a 'pro' team turning up at a local practice site in preparation for an upcoming millenium. Watching them carefully arrange their oh so casually untucked playing tops and layer three limited edition headbands one over the other in the fashion decreed by the Book of Agg, some of the newer players there were a bit intimidated. Shame they couldn't get their guns to work, got beaten in almost every game despite some amazingly flashy run-throughs and playing on and ended up accusing the team they were playing of cheating before stomping off in a huff

Wanting to look good when playing; OK, if that's your bag. Wanting to live up to an idea of paintball cool devised by American teenagers spending Mommy's money 'cos it's easier than putting the game time in......who can say?

ive not read the thread, cant really be arsed, but cant this be said about the GWC? or lots of other things in life that you buy but dont really need, you just fancy it at the time?

100% mate. Its slightly ironic (or moronic, whatever you want) saying 700 on a sandanna is a waste of money etc and people are dying in Africa when we all put so much cash into paintball.

Also with hindsight, I can understand where you came from. It does sound like one of them daytime soap things, particularly the affair with her best friend bit.

However I wudnt pay that much for a sandanas either I paid 80pound for mine so you do the math to see how much profit I will make when iquit the sport one day so I have all to gain

So whilst im still playing paintball i can wear something that i feel good wearing

If Africans had enough money to play paintball (let alone feed themselves) then the demand for such goods would go up, hence the 'price elasticity effect' would come into action and we would probably have to pay more for these Sandanas [as at least 99.9% of manufactured goods are price elastic].
