Go for it.

You can get brand new Halo B's + v35 + Ripdrives pretty cheap.

I have one and there fast and reliable.

vlocitiy ftw.. I do like Halos and their battery life is awesome but vlocities weigh a lot less.

I doubt the difference in weights was anything significant when the loaders are full of paint.

Someone should check this out, if they were bored.

Vlocity is cool, but kinda requires an upgrade chip unless you like spending £5 a day on batteries for it.

Id also recommend reloader B over the eye-based halo's.
Never, ever, have issues with 6 or so reloader b's ive used. Halos, not so lucky.

Battery life is best on reloaders over any loader IMHO (of the popular ones).

never compared with paint  but without paint there was quite a difference, but then again thats what I thought and if you don't mind about 20 - 25 % (my own estimate :p) extra weight then go for halo b's or reloaders etc...

oh the on/off on vlocities is always v.useful, getting a backplate for the halo's I think is a good idea.

I like both halo's and vlocities.... a lot of people use both. On the basis that the Halo is cheaper and with the v35 and rip drive is good to go without upgrades (backplate optional but worth thinkin about if you dont like they on/off button) I would go for that.

Think the halo new is something like £60? with v35 + rip drive.
Vlocitiy is more like £70 - £80 I think and like Lovetone said, does need a new chip (I just bought the virtue chip which cost me another £23 so it works out at quite an expensive loader).

Hope that helps.

TBH with an Ion and tournament limits set at 12bps do you actually need a new hopper.

I used (and still have it as a backup) an egg2 hopper and never had a problem with it, it fed fast enough to keep up with my old Ion, holds more paint than just about any other hopper and aside from the battery door (easily resolved with a quick mod) is pretty much bulletproof.

So people don't like them as they can be seen as a bit 'old school' and feel that they upset the balance of your marker, I never noticed any difference... in terms of value for money you can't really beat them.
