Paypal e-cheques?

Anyone know why i'm now sending echeques thru paypal instead of direct money transfer?
I joined with a credit card and have a personal account and am verified but now have added my current account to pay out of, which it did direct transfers on for the first few occasions but now it seems to have switched to echeques which take up to 9 days to clear?

How do i get direct transfer back?
Do i have to upgrade?

Doesn't it have a limit on how much you can do through direct transfers from a bank account to somebody elses PayPal account instantly?

Not sure if I'm right, but something like this happened to me, then next time, it was fine, so I just presumed it was due to limits.
