lee wickham as only just left the site from the massive clear up, talked to him about the issues raised, some he said he wished had been done better in hind sight and some where out of his control as certain parties had let them down, but overall the guy was honest and said he had learnt alot and the same mistakes would be rectified in future.this was the biggest event these guys had ever organised and they can only learn from there mistakes

Go Ball Deep!!!
I have to agree that this was the WORST Stargate game i have ever been to..

I did have a fantastic Satarday, and did enjoy the big game..
But like others here i have many gripes...

1:- Toilets.. 5 Toilets for 500 People? What a joke!! they were all disgustingly full by satarday evening.
Last year we had 2 in the campsite, 4 at the main area, 2 at the southern safe area.

2:- Marshals. What happened there?? i barely saw a marshall all day!!
As someone else said, 13 marshalls?? had double that last year easily..
Also, some of the marshals didnt seem to know what was going on???
The "shooting over the road thing" I was shot at over the road by some blues, i shot back.. Marshall told me i wasnt allowed to shoot over the road, 30 seconds later i got shot out from over the road, tried to bring this to the marshals attention and he just shrugged!! WTF!! some seemed to reckon you could, others said you couldnt.
Also, due to the lack of marshalling, there were quite a few people entering safe areas without barrel socks.

3:- Air. Dont get me started on this one!! Not a single bottle checked for condition/date!! 4500 fills?? got one! after that 3800 tops!!
As for it being supervised, i saw a couple instances of people filling 3k .8l bottles on the red hoses simply because it wasnt clearly marked. surely a sign wouldnt have hurt...

4:- the scenario. Without the token system, there was no incentive to walk, this probably massively contributed to the epic level of wipeing that took place.. with only 2 faction colours it was hard to distinguish what was going on with various factions.
And lastly, the transporter pad!! whose bright idea was that??? making the enterence face the blues safe zone!! especially when it was closer to them.
Lastly, the borg seemed like a waste of time.. basicly the replicators from pervious events.
Granted Dangerous Brian wanted to shoot people whereas in the past the replicators were marshalls, But if it says they wont attack unprovoked, they shouldnt.

5:- Pyros. Took the piss a little i thought.. That first mighty bang at the start of the final battle was impressive!! but the continual banging after was just irritating and ultimately pointless...

Overall, i did enjoy the Weekend, but the above issues really spoiled it..
The safety between chronoing/air/marshalling was just a joke!!

Considering the weekend cost me £50 + £2.50 + £3.00ish (paypal fees that were never charged to the players previously..)
I want to know where my money went???? it was considerably more expensive than previous years.. and we didnt even get any of the little things, like funky pass card, printed players pack, or the Staargate patch.

As i had to do a round trip of 600 miles to it, i seriously will reconsidder it next year if the same organisers are at the helm..

this was my first big game/scenario game, and yeah i there were a couple of problems, namely, i never saw my faction leader all day, (gould), no CO2 fill in baddies area, had to trapse into blue zone for every fill, pyros were too close to the safe zone, a rocket fell about 6ft from me!!!!, and the loos were humping, took me back to reading festival.... euuurrrgggh. But on the whole we had a laugh and thats what we went for!

Oh and props to the scottish warriors who did a great job of putting the wind up us over breakfast!!!!

Biscuit, whilst everything you mention may be true, it still does not justify the paying customer losing out here ....
This may have been their first time with an event this size....and your point is what exactly???

You seem to be suggesting, by default, that everyone has to pay for their mistakes ...you seem to be suggesting that everyone suffered serious safety and hygiene issues because they weren't used to dealing with events of this size ....but ya know what Biscuit?
The price tag for the players didn't reflect the organiser's inexperience and shortfalls did it mate?
Nah, funny enough, the price for this was allegedly even dearer than last year ...and for what exactly???

I tell ya something Biscuit, if promoters wanna charge a lot of money for putting on events such as these, then the least they can do is get the safety right, get the amenities right (not rocket science is it?), get the judging right and then, and only then, start organizing the rest of the event.
If you fcuk up in those first three, then instead of pocketing all that hard earned cash these players dipped into their wallets for, some needs to be handed back .......yes, players and teams did not get what they reasonably expected for an event of this size should provide.
There is no excuse for charging for 2 quid for a 4500 fill and then only giving 3500, that's taking the frikkin' piss outa paying customers!!!!!

It's no god bleating about inexperience, first time, blah, blah, blah, and then running down the frikkin bank and cashing everybody's money in, that kinda makes me wanna puke really and I have seeen way too much of that sh!t in this sport already.
I ain't saying we got a lotta cowboys in this sport but at one stage, we were getting to look like Dodge City

As for blaming the organisers for all the wholesale cheating going on, that's like blaming me for sticking up a bank because the bank manager left the door open.
The cheating slags who wiped are the culprits there, the lack of judges just enabled the slags to get away with it easier, that's all.

Anyway, they have promised to come on here and give their side of the story, from what I have heard from various people, these ain't bad guys here, just a little misguided but still, that doesn't justify them taking the piss.

Let's give them a fair chance to give their side of what happened and then we can all judge from a more enlightened position.

We waited baited breath ....

Nice guys or not

I think it is totally irrelevant if they are nice or not, I am happy to play an event set up by a nasty sh** if the game is fair and I don't feel I have been shafted. They might be nice but they sure as hell raked in the money. Top prize for daylight robbery on the £2 for air, paid for 2 bottles and got 1 fill at top pressure. My Nephew was with me (age 16) and his bottle was 3 months out of test, this was not checked, only when he mentioned it did I know and took it out of service, he used my spare. HPAC seem to be the only guys who are able to sort air supply efficiently and responsibly. I for one will not be hauling 200 miles to get shafted, have poor facillities and dangerous and inadequate saftey systems. Thought the guys from both sides good and evil were all fine, usual painball mob up for a laugh.

Another note on air: The rigs were 100% new. This may sound like a good thing, but it wasn't. A large majority of peoples bottles wouldn't fit the hoses.

The response from the guy managing the air stations was: "You gonna have to get a new nipple mate." I asked if i could try a different hose or one of the older one and he bluntly replied: "No. Go to BZ they'll file the nipple down for you or you'll have to buy one of our new nipples."

Seriously.

Wtf

There is so much to cover and alot has been mentioned already. I mentioned points on ukscenario.com and got shot down by the locals there.. Gassy told me about the situation on here and that Robbo has asked for answers which is basically what we all want.

Im going to miss out all the areas the game was biased as it doesnt effect the safety other than people who got trampled in the Transporter.. and i dont want to get in to the blue and red argument of who won and why.

For me the most important rule of any event whether its paintball, racing, tennis, chess is safety.

It doesnt matter if you won or lose... (Which most are struggling to see after winning!) But the event was unsafe!!

First off - A safety talk.. Great... then at the end they lob freebies of some sugar drink in a small pretty tough bottle out to the crowd when they had the sun behind them. Some guy to my left near the smoke grenade stand copped it in the face... for once I was glad to be a short ass..

Paintballs going in to the safe zone

Pyrotechnics landing in safezone (WHAT!?!?!)

Bottles were not check for test dates!

If the fill nipples didnt fit (buy a new one or I will file it down) this for me was ridiculous.

Toilets were bad but to behonest I can deal with that but that doesnt sum it up for others who cant or ladies that shouldnt have to deal with it.

The air situation was bad but £2 is nothing compared to player safety and Im afraid to say it was player safety that was put at risk.

The Taliban have a better health and safety record compared to that event.

Just to note I wanted to leave but couldnt get car off the field so thats the only reason I stayed!

I wont go again.. I feel robbed... and at the moment I seriously wonder why I play paintball.. :(

Thanks to the great people I met as you made Saturday a great Night.

Mophead - This wasnt just Stencil this was a whole bunch of people.. . Alott of bottles didnt fit.. mine did but if it didnt it would have been game over for me as I wouldnt let someone file it down... thats simply dangerous... it was some guy a file and your bottle.. filed away.. stuck it straight on and filled it.. crap could have gone in the tank etc.. Nuts!!!!
