thus the recent call to actually start charging 16-17 year olds found in possesion of a knife rather than just confiscating and cautioning which is the common response.
I heard this on the news the other day, and i think its a great idea.

I dont understand why they werent doing this anyway

Would you honestly be willing to take that chance? I know I probably wouldn't.

I have had far more convincing guns pointed in my face before.
The point being, I, know what to look for and generally, Joe Public doesn't.

If it is at a distance, then your first thought is to hide or escape and that would usually be mine too, but when it is literally in your face, a sudden decision isn't always the right idea, so you should take the time to consider your options.

I wasn't going to expand, but as you have challenged me!

The incident that occurred, involved a metal airsoft pistol.
My observation, was that the barrel (meaning, the actual exit hole), had no rifling. So I grabbed the weapon and "dissolved" the situation.

Yes, I was absolutely terrified.
Yes, I very nearly soiled myself.
Yes, I did think that the weight of this, otherwise accurate replica, was very impressive. It made a good blunt instrument.
And yes, this incident did happen to me, prior to the release of Snatch, before anyone mentions it.
No, I didn't read the word "Replica", on the side of it. Actually, I have never seen a replica, with that written on, but if pushed, I recognise the common names, Reck and Uberti, followed by the usual 8mm on the side of said replicas, so that would also help me out, should the situation arrive again.

You are a brave man.

There is nothing in the world that i value more than my life, apart from loved ones. So if that was in my face, and i did realise it was a replica, i would be sure he was prepared to use it as a blunt weapon.

So whatever he wants, money/car etc. He's getting it, no hesitation. You only get one life.

Realistic style paintball guns were about long before the classic sup-air markers
Forget what they look like close up its whether it looks realistic from a distance and most of them do

Bravery has nothing to do with it. At the time, I didn't know that for the most part, these items are for show.
I was genuinely in fear of my life and decided that something was to be done.
I decide, that it was at worst an air pistol and not the 9mm that it appeared to be.
Fortunately, having someone you are pointing a gun at, grab the barrel and twist the gun out of your hand, is the very last thing, that these showboaters, expect to happen.
I beat him good with it.
I think, that once I had grabbed the gun, he was genuinely more scarred of me, than I was of him at that point!
It just goes to show, how much power these people believe they have, when they carry. And for the most part, they are right, regardless of the actual lethality of the thing. If you think it's real, then they have the power.
So you can understand why they carry them.
Still, that was a good few years ago and the world is a different place now.
If it were to happen again, I'm not sure I would do the same again.

I had a couple of Walther CP CO2 .177 pistols and they were damn convincing and bought over the counter at a local model shop,I would have had no problem believing them the real thing as a layman and I used them for plinking cans in the back garden,I also have friends who play airsoft who have rooms that look like the store in Boondock Saints.

I think they have no place in paintball ..I hate Milsim bollocks ,If you want to play soldier join the army or take up airsoft where these things are (now) regulated, and BTW please don't get milsim confused with woodsball, different entity.I have watched people practicing drawing and firing there 'sidearm' dressed as Russian special forces and I find it sad as fook, and I think it is a bad image for paintball.I also realize there is a "where we all started" argument ..but I also believe in evolution.

However to negate my personal beliefs if it puts large sums of cash into the industry then we have no argument against it because it benefits us all and as previously stated ,you can get a realistic gun at Toys R us, so there really is no need to be concerned that paintball is going to be affected by these more than it would be if someone robbed a bank with a Super Soaker mark IV the end result will be the same.

Because we can't enforce half of our legislation already, and making something illegal doesn't solve the problem. If you think legislation deters crime, consider how often you speed (which causes more deaths than knife crime btw), and how you only slow down for speed cameras. Criminals agknowledge the risk of detection, not prosecution. Rant over.

Realistic markers, my 2p: Like anything, they could be used irresponsibly, but at least they cost too much for chavs and your average retard to buy on a whim.
