Personaly I would say wait a couple weeks and get the new iPhone (v2 essentialy). They are pricing them around the £100 mark

total = £540 + £100 = £640 atleast for a 3G iPhone.

read the CNET article on unlocking the new iphones, you MUST get a contract in store when if you want the 3G iphone.

Give it 2 weeks and you will be able to hack it. Like you can the existing one, so you can use any SIM you want.

But with unlimited data transfer why would you want to?

Reason I mentioned it is I have an iTouch (16GB). If my contract was nearing the end I would get the iPhone.

Was just about to post that.

Go to Ebay for a cheap itouch, i've got both a touch and iPhone, use the touch with the AUX jack in the car because the iPhone jack is made so you have to buy a adaptor.

I want the touch for the car. Too rough on cell phones!! Iphone wouldnt last as I work in aviation maintenance. Anyone got one they want to get rid of? Trade for gear or what not. Let me know. Also have cash.
