Scenario / woodsball or sup air / speedball ??

on a serious note, I would just try both and see which best suits you as a person, woodsball as with most people, is how I was introduced to the sport so there is no denying the pull is there, speedball just has the feeling of being what paintball should be all about as a sport (sorry to all scenario players) fast paced, lightweight, loud and tough on the wallet as anything worth doing is.

both are equally enjoyable, I use speedball as a sport and woodsball as a way of showing all non paintball crazed mates how I roll!

I read a thread on a MILSIM forum where they were bitching about how "Speedballers have a bad attitude" and that "MILSIM is the best".

I thought about replying but really couldnt be bothered arguing. What you said is spot on IMO. Both are great fun, but it depends on you as a person and how you like to play. Modern speed ball is bringing the game to the masses, no one wants to sit in a forrest watching a game. They would rather sit at home, or in a grand-stand watching a fast paced action packed game.

The fast paced nature of the game is driving development into newer better markers, paint prices seam to have lowered a bit over the last 2 years.

I havnt really been lucky enough to get into a team and play loads of Sup Air, but what I have played I loved. I enjoy the woods, but I am impatient. I cant sit around waiting for someone to come to me. I do love it, and will play it.

Westy its up to you to decide what you prefer. Find a walk-on that will allow you to hire a marker. Have a word with some of the guys playing, explain that you are looking at buying a marker and ask if they will let you fire a few shots to see what marker you prefer. As people said, get electro it will allow you to find what type of ball you want to play, and not limit you to woodsball.
