Echowitch is that maybe because it costs them more in food suppliers/petrol/buying land because of where they are based?

No idea just thinking.

On a good car related note I passed my driving test today :p
Grats, welcome to the world of independence to drive anywhere you want.....and sit in traffic hehe :D

Could be, but thats why Im interested to hear what prices are like further North. Everything in Surrey is more expensive as we are the London commuter zone.

I work abroad a lot and have been to a lot of countries.

Thats when you REALLY notice how much we get ripped off here. Even just in other European countries.

Thailand is a great example....£20 to fill up a Toyota Fortuner (that a big f**k off 4x4 by the way). ok so I was not working there I was on holiday, but you get what I mean! Other countries in Asia are pretty similar, some even cheaper. Before anyone says it....I KNOW people dont get paid as much out there so dont lecture me smart ass.

I think you will find, that fuel costs are actually nearer 70% tax.

Blockades and just not buying petrol on one day will never work.

What we all need to do, is stop buying from the largest suppliers, cant remember who they are now.

Anyway, stop buying from them and just buy elsewhere. They will have to lower their prices, in order to get some custom, ergo, the other companies will also have to lower their prices, to remain competitive.

Think it was Esso and Shell or something, anyway you stop buying from one (and its brand name places too) and jobs a goodun.

Its just getting everyone to do it. Simple enough idea but the fuel giants have so many outlets, plus if you are like me, all the ones close to me are a major brand so convincing people to go elsewhere may be an arse :(

I didnt mean to sound negative....uh oh....too late

they are putting up Taxes to line their f**king pockets.

for the average person who has to drive to work, it just makes day to day life more of a struggle.

With the state of the economy at the moment all they seem to want to do is make a bad situation worse.

not having a rant at you mate. It just pi$$es me off tbh

well from what i have been hearing, its the americans , one in four adults have 2 cars, and most of them have a big people carrier, now these sorta cars swallow juice, when i am older i know it will be up to about £2 a litre, and with the price of food and tax going up that doesnt help, from what i have learnt in business people are saving up their money and not putting it back into the economy, it wont before long we have inflation and or a major depression, thats what i think anyway

I mean, pick one company and boycott them, just buy from the other companies. There must be more than one company in your area.
