OK, just looking for a bit of advice from people really.

I recently invested in a pair of the dye 08 knee pads. after a little use i find that they really dont fit the shape of my leg. i couldnt go a size smaller as they would cut the blood supply off too my legs as there tight(under the knee) but the top (above the knee) is very loose and cant be tightened anymore, so consiquently after a game they are half way down my shins, this isnt good and having too pull them up gets teadious.
I was wondering how other peoples experiences with these pads and others go, as i know one of the guy who plays for samurai has the same problems.
Was thinking about buying a pair of the eclipse ones too see if they fit any better?
I know the ideal thing for me too do would be go down too my "local store" but unfortunatly the nearest one is miles away so its easier said than done.
Was wondering if at campaign i would be able too try different knee pads out from the manufacturers?

thanks for any help anyone gives and i simpathise with anyone in the same boat.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
I am sure everyone that sells knee pads will have them on show, so I would suggest checking out the stands first......... try before you buy :)

I had the same trouble with knee pads and to be honest i gave up wearing them, they are not a huge amount of use in the dead box anyway.

My NXE ones are great, they have elastic adjustment above and below the knee and grippy bits on the inside so they dont slip. Plus they feel like your kneeling on pillows.

Hey i currently used dye 08 knee pads and the only thing i noticed was that i need l/xl pads when i ain't that big

Also the fell down to my ankles when i had them on to low to begin with. So now i pull them right up so that the lower grip bit is above my calf muscle making it very hard to move over my muscle and fall off.

now i really like.

Also find that when i take them off they pull my leg hairs off a little bit.

Just my views

yeah they pull my leg hairs off also :)

i cant wear them that high up cause i always bruise the little lump below my knee. (sounds strange but if you look you wil know what i mean :)
I also wear the L/XL ones and im quite a slim build, but there is no-way i could go any smaller.

and there is no way i can go without knee pads playing snake :)

think i might just have too wait untill campaign before doing anything about them and get up their early :)

anyone got any suggestions they like and why?

i really like the dye 08 ones cause there very padded and feel like ur kneeling on matresses but the fitting feels very weird, maybe i ahve weird shaped legs :)

i have the new dye 08s too and found them very nice and had little problem with them,a few suggestions:
  • mine are also loose at the top section as this allows your legs to move unhindered i find,
  • pull them up so the dye logo is right on your knee cap and the grippy neoprene section at the bottom is good and tight (but not too tight),
  • have you got them on the correct legs? i put them on the wrong legs the first time (slightly painful) then found they have little labels on the inside:eek:,
  • i put talc powder on my knees and the backs of my knees to stop any sweaty chafing and it helps them come off when finished playing :)
  • the more you wear them the more flexible and comfy they will become,
well thats about it i think, they are very nice knee pads to wear and slide in,
just dont get the eclipse ones, theyre really not as nice in my opinion:(

Puberty additional bone growth ?? If so I have the same thing. Really sore during the whole of puberty and Doctors can't do the hammer to the knee test lol It really confuses them.

I had the Proto 07 knee pads which are very good but I've just gotten the new Eclipse 08 Knee Pads.

Pro's:

Very adjustable
Fantastically aired as they are open backed
More padded where it counts (so it seems to me)
More comfortable on the knee's

Con's:
Take a bit of getting used to after the old style pads.
Looks very pimpy and you might feel inclined to wear them out everywhere :)

this might not be the best of things to say but if they are lose at the top why not think of shoelaces or an elastic band to secure it abover your knee. i used to do it with insulator tape on my socks to hold up my shinpads when i played football. why not try something the same.

hope i have helped
