God this thread is becoming irrelevant...

If all players are allowed to wear one then it is down to personal choice, hence there is NO advantage given too anyone ,hence they should be and are allowed at tournaments ,it's that simple.

sorry guys but i must butt in here...

once it becomes a choice... if people kick off whether its an advantage or disadvantage... chances are they will say 'ok, EVERYONE must wear one' and that will be that...

then 3 years later another peice of "protective" equipment will be available at individual choice etc etc and before you know its going to be a hardcore version of lazer tag... kind of a giggle... but no fun without any 'sting' factor!

thats what happens to everything else, ESPECIALLY in the UK

THe tops are not really for the pain tho aree they people.... Yer maybe they are advertised to0 takew the sting out of it but really they are just made to help you get more bounces in a game... and at time yes they do... but if people shoot decent paint it breaks anyway...

Its just the same as wearing arm pads yet buying jerseys with more padding in them. When i wore the latest C8 jersey will my Dye Pads i was getting more bouncers off my arms than i was of my chest with a baggy jersey and some amour underneath
hence why i allways try to shoot you in the head mate.:D:D:D:cool::D

Actually the point wasn't irrelevant just most of the comments as all they dwelled on was personal opinion about the relative cheatiness or protectiveness of padded vests.
The issue behind the acceptance of padded vests in tourney play is industry driven commercially motivated changes made to the game without any serious regard for the results and the absolutely indestructable myopia or apathy of the players. (That would be you lot. Those who actually play as opposed to the forum warriors, that is.)
But if y'all took that issue seriously you might have to do something other than argue and whinge and that would take all the fun out of the game.

Next time the game is changed in a way you object to remember that all you've ever done about it is complain on an internet forum and then roll over and take it. Except for those who just quit altogether.

There server must still be on 28.8k line, still in the process of updating for the past 2 years:D

I understand what your saying Russ, to be a fair comment, its goner pi$$ a lot of players off when the guy you just drilled a hoppers worth of paint standing at the center 50, wearing a feather quilt under his top, is still in the game. It would aggrevate players more. Change there attitude in the game and for the game itself.

The wording in the title of this thread needs changing:rolleyes:
Although most people have argued regards to padded vests, i believe the argument here made by Russ is how many layers players are going to wear until the situation gets silly, out of hand.
Paintball is going to hurt, it can be dangerous, it is an extreme sport, think that says it all.
