Guys, I have found the best bit of kit I have in my toolbox is a multi-meter. Gone are the days of chucking away perfectly healthy batteries just to put another one in to find out it was something else on your marker/hopper/whatever that was causing a problem.
It also helps you make informed decisions about whether you should really change those hopper batteries for that last game when your low battery light is on. Check the voltage and if not too bad then carry on.
I got mine from e-bay for about £7 total. I reckon I've saved that in batteries so far this year easily so it's paid for itself.
One thing I would add though is that these are not suitable for use on high energy circuits as they do not meet HSE GS38 guidelines. But plenty fine for testing out little AA and PP3 type batteries.
And finally... I don't actually chuck any batteries away. Just cos they arent good enough to power your pball toys doesnt necesarily mean they arent good enough for remote controls, clocks, kiddies toys....
Oh, also on e-bay... packs of 10 x 9V pro-cells £8 delivered. If your interested.
