I am going to use a fiber wrapped air tank for an energy source for a hopping robot, but I need to know the thread type and size on a tank (assuming it's standard).

I won't be using the regulator, so it's just the bottle thread I need, not the regulator thread.

Hoping someone can help. Thanks in advance.

...Your taking a BIG risk with not having a Reg on it, & how are you going to stem the flow of air through it....

In true McGyver fashion, we'll be using a Scuba Regulator to drop to our required pressure - from 250bar in the tank to about 6 bar. Turns out that the scuba reg is pretty much perfect, relatively light compared to any industrial regulator, and is known to be safe...

(250 bar still concerns me though....)

Yo need to speak to our fourm Air expert...Mr Ton Allen...He will be able to help you, But it still sounds Very RISKY...

Send him a PM...But if he feels this is to dangerous he might decline to help, as helping someone to rectifying an air system could put you/someones life at risk...

Understood - this is research being done at an Engineering Dept at a University so we will be taking precautions, but your advice is welcome and noted...
