if you have had it appart, did you get the hoses on the banjo barbs (silver elbow things) in the correct order, pull the trigger does it cycle backwards?
could also be an oring on the rammer, even if they look ok change them anyway...its the one in the middle of the shaft thats important (cant remember the size atm..doh!)

if its doing what daftkrunk described and doing what we call 'rocketing' then degas and remove the inline, undo the training bolt in the frm and pull the lpr out of the gun adn lube the orings on the back part of the lpr and that should sort it.

if you dont get any joy, give planet a call and ask to speak to Robert, he will do a better job of diagnosing than me.
can you explain why my marker would do such "rocketing"?

sure...those 2 orings on the back of the lpr body are there to separate the low pressure air used to operate the solenoid and the high pressure air which fires the ball....if the orings are dry the 2 can mix which causes the solenoid to go mental for want of a better word!

Thanks for the help Elliot, I had the marker on, eyes off, aired up and shot - solenoid clicks but no further activity. I managed to "shoot it out" once at training but that was it, not playing anymore :(

Jahlad, didn't know that - so the leak ain't an issue, it's just WHY the bolt is determined to shoot forwards, hmmmmmm.

spoke to Robert for you at lunch time, he says its definatly going to be the number 9 oring on the rammer, change it for a new one and oil it well and you should be sorted

Mate, that's awesome! I didn't get chance to pop in today because of work (had the Etek in my car and everything).

Will let you know how I get on (although I ain't got any spare o-rings OR a pick at the moment, LOL) - what's the best way to remove an o-ring without a pick? I'll change all the o-rings on the rammer just to be consistent.

Everyone should use this as a fine example of the customer service I have constantly received from Planet, usually when I go into the shop, but now from the comfort of my living room too - fookin fantastic.

EDIT : Thanks to you too Nige - you posted whilst I was typing - cheers Bro.

OK, changed all 3 oRings on the Rammer, lubed etc, aired up and now the bolt has stopped shooting forwards BUT there is still quite a harsh leak out of the feedneck/barell. When I pull the trigger, it cycles but the leak doesn't stop.

Come on boys, I need those pearls of knowledge again! LOL

did you take the valve out when you were taking it apart?

check that the spring is seated correctly, also check the sealing face of the valve (the part that touches the housing) and the housing dont have any scratches on them.
if there is a scratch on eather it can cause a leak.

other things to look at are, is the head of the valve (the delrin bit) screwed onto the stem propperly, if its loose - loctite it back on. also the brass insert in the front of the houseing, check that isnt loose, loctite if it is.

a leak out of the feedneck/barrel is telling me that the valve is open or not sealing correctly for some reason so is dumping air....you can check this by removing the barrel and making sure the eye is off and you are not pulling the trigger (put a finger behind it) put your finger in the 'shooty end' and cover the hole where the air would normally enter the bolt when it is in the forward position...its easy to find on the bottom of the breach, you should then be able to feel the air on your finger and probably cover the hole to stop the leak ;) you will hear when you have it covered.
