It is annoying when there is no price but i think one of the reasons sellers do that is in the hope someone will offer more than what they really want for it but you do open yourself up to lowballing when buyers dont really know a rough value of what your selling. At least if there is a price it's open to a bit of haggling :)

ok been looking around, thee seams to be a lot of "Offers" threads.

you know what you want for your item, so offers are a waste of time, for both parties.

The words sauce, goose and gander spring to mind, lump, I am fairly sure you have offered items on a "make me an offer" basis in the past, can't be arsed to trawl through your thread history for hours though :)

I would be happier to see things like guns run as a auction thread, if the seller is looking for offers. If the seller wants to set a reserve they could pm it to you before the sale, then there would be a record of it, (no changing of mind after etc.).

Just a suggestion.

Being new here and not having played paintball for a very long time, prices of equipment is very different to when i first played, i have no idea what a 2004 gun is worth today or what it cost when it was new so i think this is a good idea, people get berated for putting in to low a price (low balling) but the seller in one instance said he had no idea what it was worth, as soon as a low price went in he suddenly remembered lol.
if someone puts a price in with "offers in the region of" it gives people a chance to decide if its within their price range, if it aint they can keep trawling without cluttering up threads.

like my old governer said when buying some used trucks, the guy that owned them said "make me an offer" he replied "i cant be the buyer and the seller mate, you want to sell it, give me a price ill tell you if i want to buy it" :)

just my 2cents.

i think it is important for people to be able to see the price of item.
eastie you had 20 items in your thread with offers. that could be 40 posts one with and offer from a buyer and another from you in return.
now you have a price people can go i will take it

and i am sure i have had one or two item in a thread with offers, but in the end i gave away. i would not have mined so much if 30 items with the odd one of offers. but a whole page. you will sell more with a price :D

I go away for a year - and look what happens :D.

Anyway, I agree with him. How many times do you see 'make me an offer' - only to see 'oh, that is too low' 2 posts later!

If you want to sell your stuff for a squillion quid - then ask for a squillion quid. You can always lower your price later.
